Chapter 19
The sacred grounds surrounding the cave were very cool, even unique.
The low wave of energy that had been so great inside the cave seemed to spread to the open air, leaving only a calm silence.
Lucia sat on a fallen log near the side of the area, her arms holding tight her knees.
Her mind was still racing from everything she had learned about the Moon Goddess's curse, her family's role in the broken bond between wolves and witches, and the weight of her newfound role in everything.
Kain was a little far away from her, resting against a tree with his arms crossed. His sharp eye swept across the area on alert.
"You don't really have to keep watch," Lucia said softly, breaking the silence.
Kain looked at her, his expression unreadable.
"Out here, you have to be very careful always." he said.
She sighed, resting her chin on her knees.
"Do you ever stop?" she asked.
