Ultimatum

Chapter 24

In the morning, the pack gathered outside the lodge, Lucia was standing near the steps, her body was still aching from the last day's training, but it was nothing compared to the disturbance that she was feeling.

Kain was at the center of the clearing, arms crossed, his gaze was locked on the figure standing before them, a messenger sent by Dante.

"Speak." Kain's voice was calm but filled with ice.

"I bring a message from Alpha Dante Voss." The messenger smiled, slow and deliberate.

"I thought as much," Kain said dryly.

"The message is simple," Lucia shifted uneasily as the messenger's eyes moved to her.

"Dante is offering you a choice. Hand over the girl, and he will spare your pack." the man continued.

Murmurs went through the crowd.

"Of course." Clara scoffed, arms folded as she muttered.

"And if I refuse?" Kain's jaw clenched.
