A Warrior's resolve

Chapter 27

The morning sun had not even risen when Lucia has moved onto the training grounds.

The place was cool, fresh, and filled with the faint scent of moist land from the night's passing storm.

Warriors were already there, stretching and sparring, their movements fast and precise.

Lucia turned her shoulders, trying to push away the pained that she got from the last battle. She had fought well, but she knew it was not enough. Not yet.

Kain was at the center of the grounds, looking as Kael was demonstrating a grappling technique with another warrior.

His sharp eyes moved toward Lucia the moment she got closer.

"You are early," he remarked.

"I figured if I am going to be part of this pack, I should start acting like it." Lucia smirked.

"That means following orders, too." Kain raised a brow.

"You planning to give me any I would not ignore?" She crossed her arms.
