Lucifer glared back at Diya, he didn't particularly like her tone. Before he could instigate a fight, he saw the insane smile on Ema's face and couldn't help but narrow his eyes.
If there was one thing he hated or plainly could not stand are battle maniacs.
Seeing Ema's goading smile just cemented the fact that she was a curse being to Lucifer. Something that he would not unnecessarily touch if possible.
He flashed back to the time he ticked off the monkey king Wukong and was beaten within an inch of his life. All due to his pride a battle maniac was let loose upon his 'angelic' ass that day.
He didn't want to deal with that kind of situation again. He put up his hands in surrender and asked what do you need me to do?
He asked as if he hadn't almost provoked an all-out fight a moment ago.
Seeing Lucifer being 'reasonable' Diya withdrew her power and asked "Examine their souls and tell us what is wrong with it."
Lucifer nodded before brushing past Ema and started examining the demons.
Ema being pushed almost started a fight but calmed down when Diya put a hand on her shoulder. When she looked into Diya's eyes she understood and held back.
They need to prioritise their goals first. Number one on their list was hunting the idiot who sent that 'extremely fair' contract. The second could be plucking a pigeon but that is for later.
"Hmmmmmm.... I think I know which hell these demons are from. But that's about all I can tell you, these souls are too broken for any other useful information to be obtained"
Upon hearing Lucifer, the trio immediately listened to his words. "These guys are from the Duat, or what you might know as the Egyptian hell."
Lucifer internally thought that a higher level god did this to their souls but didn't voice out his thoughts. He had an inkling of who was behind this.
He thought that he should meet him to discuss what he knew, most likely something interesting was about to happen again. Knowing the potential fun Lucifer wouldn't miss it for the world.
