The evening air was cold and crisp, the wind carrying with it the scent of rain. Aurora stood in the middle of the darkened bedroom, her mind racing as she clutched the note Logan had left behind.

"I have a shoot. Stay in the house. Don't leave."

His words were both commanding and protective, but they grated against her instincts. Stay? It wasn't in her nature to be confined, especially not now when Jason Park was still alive. He was her mission, a target she had spent months tracking. Last night's chaos had only delayed the inevitable.
