Chapter 67: A Reluctant Alliance

Logan had never felt so frustrated in his life. He had spent years playing characters on screen, but nothing could have prepared him for the reality of being caught in a real-life thriller. Aurora—no, Aurora, not just some bodyguard, but a woman with a dangerous past—was fighting battles in the shadows that he didn't fully understand.

And now, because of her, he was in the crosshairs of something bigger than himself.

Sitting across from Aurora in his penthouse, Logan watched as she calmly stitched up the cut on her arm, her expression unreadable. The silence between them was suffocating.

"You should rest," she finally said without looking up.

Logan scoffed. "You expect me to sleep after what just happened?"

"You're not trained for this kind of fight, Logan. The best thing you can do is stay out of the way."

Logan clenched his fists. "If I'm a target because of you, then staying out of the way isn't an option."
