I shot him a glare as he waited patiently for me to speak.

He smirked. "That's what I thought. A King shouldn't been seen walking in the night without security. I think you are being watched, that's how they knew how to attack. It was impromptu, same goes for your wander."

I ignored him, wiping the blood from my hands. "Did you follow me?"

"Obviously." He sheathed his dagger, his expression shifting to something more serious. "I had a feeling you'd be dumb enough to wander alone. And I was following a lead with the rogues. They've infiltrated my pack. I hate visitors." I scoffed but didn't argue. He wasn't wrong about wandering alone. I had to think, I needed answers. After what he had saw with Hailey in the first attack, he knew I would do this.

"I could send my trackers to help with the safety of your borders."
