Storming out of Asher's office, I barely noticed the grandeur of the Lycan castle as I walked through the wide hallways, my mind a storm of emotions. The polished marble beneath my feet, the towering golden chandeliers, and the delicate tapestries adorning the walls—all of it felt suffocating. Asher's words kept echoing in my head, each one slicing deeper than the last.
I walked with purpose, but each step felt like a battle against the surge of anger and hurt that threatened to overwhelm me. I had never felt more alone, more like an outsider, than I did in that moment. The silence in the castle seemed deafening, pressing in on me from all sides. I was just a prisoner, just an inconvenience, a possession. As I walked passed the staff and other people around the mansion, I couldn't bring myself to look at anyone, not even the guards who watched me pass. Their cold stares felt like they were weighing me down even more, but I refused to show any weakness.
