When I was sixteen weeks pregnant, my husband's mistress Michelle traveled to the Maldives for scuba diving and requested I join her.

Zayn's stern voice resonated through the speaker, "Marie, you're quite the actress, aren't you? Trying to use the child to manipulate me again? Didn't you claim you wanted to observe sharks but were scared to dive alone while pregnant, so you convinced Michelle to join you?"


"Michelle was duped by your kindness, but I won't fall for your tricks again." Zayn ended the call abruptly.


In his mind, Michelle was innocent while I was conniving. But it didn't bother me. Escaping this marriage was the best outcome I could hope for.


I requested an evaluation of the knife injury on my right arm and went back to the diving team to retrieve the radio recordings from the day of the incident.


The walls were covered with posters celebrating Zayn's heroic rescue, and a crowd of admirers were posing for pictures with Zayn and Michelle.
