Gladys didn't respond, but Alston didn't mind. He lowered his eyelashes and asked quietly, "You said before that boys and girls shouldn't live together alone..."
"So why can Mom keep Brian, but Dad can't keep Aunt Marian?"
"Gladys, do you not like Aunt Marian?"
"Didn't you say before that you wanted me to introduce you to Aunt Marian?"
