Chapter 157 Perhaps, Falling In Love A Second Time Isn't So Bad.

The news had Amara frozen and her heart, it seemed, had stopped beating for a while.

Elvis, had taken note of her shock, but didn’t seem phased.

“Do you understand what I’m saying?” He asked, leaning against his desk.

Amara had expected to feel the shock and disbelief that would soon be followed by a bout of rage.

However, that wasn’t what she felt. Amara felt a sense of understanding, knowing that her grandfather’s actions wasn’t just prompted by a last minute decision, but rather, the urge and instinct to protect his own.

But, he hadn’t just threatened her, he had threatened her freedom.

Her grandfather had, in a roundabout way, told her to get her shit together and figure out who had been trying to kill her, and not only her, but the person that held her heart, else she’d have to leave.

Amara couldn’t have agreed more.
