“This has got to be a joke!”
Elijah stood in a corner, watching with hands behind his back as his father raged on, throwing objects here and there and yelling.
“How did she come to find out! Just how did she come to find out!? Or is this another scheme of yours? Is this another way for you to get back at me? Are you still being a child about your mother’s death and blaming it on me!?”
Elijah took a deep breath, trying to remain as calm and collected as possible. “It’s not,” He said.
“Don’t lie!” His father roared.
“I'm not, father,” Elijah continued, his tone remaining the same.
“You’re lying! Just like your mother! You’ve ruined what I planned and now the company’s going to be doomed! I hope you’re happy, because you’ve just ruined your family’s fortune!”
