The pain was excruciating, piercing every nerve and pulling tautly until they tore like threads. My pulse roared in my ears, fire spreading through my veins and burning me from the inside. He sank his fangs deeper into my flesh and a raw scream ripped from my throat, unrelenting pain hitting me like bolt of lightning, vicious in its intensity.

I jerked my leg frantically, desperate to drive my heel into his foot before he tore a chunk of flesh from my neck. Choking on the intensity of his vice grip, a pounding in my head as I was tethering the edge of death in a few seconds.

Jabbing my heel into his foot with all my strength. No thoughts – just the raw need to escape. His fangs detach, a hissed cry slipping from his bloody lips before he released me.

I gasped, struggling to breathe past the agony constricting my chest. My feet tremble as I try to run, each step slower than the last. Blood coats my fingers as I clutch my neck, pain flaring with every pulse.
