Lazarus arched his eyebrow, silently judging me while letting out an exasperated sigh. “Can’t you go anywhere without bringing the wounded to my doorstep.”

I laughed, awkwardly. A pathetic attempt to lighten the mood, especially with that death glare he was shooting them over my shoulder. His expression pulled taut with disdain. “Leave.”

“Come on Lazarus.” I frowned, a knot between my brows. “She saved my life and she’s leaving in a few days.”

His jaw tensed, sharp like blade. “And him? Why did you bring him here?” He spat venomously.

Colton held Bonnie in his arms, refusing to put her down despite her protest. He was adamant on her recovery and her protection. “Colton, take her to the guest bedroom.” I instructed, holding Lazarus’s attention.

His footsteps faded while Nova handed over her backpack, her voice barely above a whisper. “I’m just going to go.”
