Chapter 111: Enhanced Abomination

Back at the Azeroth Tech Tower, Garus summoned Abomination, Emil Blonsky.

"Master," Blonsky said, a bit confused as he followed Garus into a laboratory.

Garus produced a red crystalline shard, emanating an immense energy that Blonsky could immediately sense.

This was the Blood God Crystal, or in the Frostmourne's spirit's words, Blood Essence.

After careful consideration, Garus had decided to enhance Blonsky's power further. While creating a high-ranking San'layn could have been an option, investing this resource to augment Abomination's strength seemed a far more strategic move.

"This crystal contains the power of a vampire," Garus explained. "Absorb it, and your abilities will grow stronger. But the process might be… painful."

Blonsky's eyes lit up with anticipation. More than anyone, he craved power. Pain and suffering were trivial in comparison to what he sought. Recently, despite relentless training, he had hit a plateau—his physical growth limited, and even the Blood Power within him refusing to advance.

Taking the Blood God Crystal, Blonsky gripped it tightly. Crimson energy radiated from the shard, causing the blood runes etched across his body to glow fiercely.

"Argh!" Blonsky roared as his body began to swell, transforming back into the monstrous form of Abomination. A terrifying aura erupted from him, whipping up a violent windstorm within the small laboratory.

The Blood God's power poured out of the crystal, merging into Abomination's body. The process was excruciating and lasted for over half an hour. By the end, the crystal had dissolved completely, its essence absorbed into Blonsky.

Panting heavily, Abomination's every breath now seemed to resonate with the surging blood energy coursing through him. Garus observed him closely, noting how much stronger he appeared compared to before. For a moment, he wondered how Abomination's enhanced form might fare against the Hulk, whose strength grew with his rage.

Knock, knock.

The lab door opened, and a cautious voice came from outside. "Mr. Garus?"

"Come in," Garus replied.

The mercenary Bullseye entered hesitantly, immediately freezing at the sight of the massive, menacing figure in the lab. He instinctively swallowed hard, feeling as though his blood might be drawn out of his veins just by standing there.

"Uh… Mr. Garus," Bullseye stammered. "S.H.I.E.L.D. sent a message. They want you to head to Mexico immediately. Their transport is already waiting for you on the rooftop."

Garus frowned slightly. So, they're getting impatient. Could the Sorcerer Supreme no longer contain him?

"Blonsky, you're coming with me."

"Yes, Master," Abomination rumbled, his deep voice carrying an air of quiet menace. He quickly returned to his human form, his towering and terrifying presence shrinking back into the guise of a brooding, silent giant.

Bullseye, who had been stunned into silence, shivered as he recalled all the times he'd casually joked with Blonsky. And here I thought he was just a quiet big guy…

On the rooftop, Garus saw that his ride was being handled by none other than Agent Phil Coulson. Smirking, he quipped, "Coulson, are you Fury's personal chauffeur? You're always the one picking me up."

Coulson gave an awkward smile. "For now, my assignments are limited to you and Tony Stark."

The Quinjet flew south, and after several hours, they arrived at a military camp. Even from outside, the chaotic noise of heated arguments could be heard.

Inside, Garus found Director Nick Fury, General Thaddeus Ross, and several unfamiliar individuals engaged in a tense discussion. Garus quickly learned that the others were government officials from the Mexican city recently devastated in the attack.

The Mexican officials, faces flushed with anger, hurled accusations at General Ross. Their fury was understandable—an entire city had been annihilated by a monster that seemingly came out of nowhere. Were it not for the overwhelming power of the United States, the confrontation might have escalated beyond words.

Ross, meanwhile, sat in grim silence. The death of his daughter, Betty, had struck him deeply. Worse, her body remained trapped alongside the Hulk.

The destruction caused by the Hulk and Abomination's battle in New York had already led some government officials to push for Ross's impeachment. However, his continued support from segments of the military—eager to pursue the Hulk research—had kept him in position for now.

"Director Fury, Mr. Garus has arrived," Coulson announced, interrupting the shouting match and drawing everyone's attention.

One of the Mexican officials glanced at Garus and asked Fury, "Who is this?"

Fury replied, "This is Mr. Garus, our S.H.I.E.L.D. Security Consultant. He's here to resolve the situation."

The officials exchanged skeptical glances. Few outside the U.S. knew of Garus, and his youthful appearance did little to inspire confidence.

Ross, however, recognized Blonsky immediately. "Blonsky?" he muttered in disbelief. "You're alive?"

Blonsky remained expressionless as he met his former commander's gaze.

Before the conversation could spiral further, Fury cut in. "Let me explain the situation," he said, eager to shift the focus. Ignoring the protests of the Mexican officials, he gestured for Coulson to escort them out.

Once the room was quieter, Fury addressed Garus. "The Hulk is currently ten kilometers away in a small town that's been reduced to rubble. Thankfully, most civilians have been evacuated, so casualties are minimal. The Sorcerer Supreme, along with Mordo and other sorcerers from Kamar-Taj, has been using the Mirror Dimension to contain him, but we don't know how much longer they can hold."

Unlike Bruce Banner, this incarnation of the Hulk was mindless and utterly uncontrollable. Any attempt to stop him was met with relentless, destructive fury. He had been rampaging for an entire day without showing any signs of exhaustion.

"Mr. Garus, can you calm him down?" Fury asked, his tone betraying his growing unease. The more he learned about Garus, the more mysterious—and unsettling—he became.

Garus considered the question briefly. He had no intention of trying to pacify the Hulk; if he did, he would have brought Wanda along.

"Take me to the scene. I'll figure it out," he said simply.

As they stepped outside, angry shouts from the Mexican officials followed them. Ignoring the commotion, Garus and Fury boarded a helicopter bound for the wrecked town.

From above, Garus surveyed the smoking ruins of the city. Buildings lay in rubble, tanks and military vehicles strewn across the streets, all obliterated in the carnage.
