Chapter 113: Hulk’s Betty

The Hulk had emerged unscathed from battles with the military and imprisonment in the Mirror Dimension. Yet now, as pain coursed through him from his injuries, his fury grew—and so did his strength.

Garus planted his sword into the ground, pointing his other hand toward the enraged Hulk.

"Frostbite!"

A rush of icy energy drained the heat from the air around the Hulk, encasing his body in a white frost that slowed his movements.

Seizing the opportunity, the Ancient One conjured a long, glowing magical tether in her hands.

With a sharp crack, the tether lashed across the battlefield, wrapping around Betty Ross and yanking her to the Ancient One's side.

Hulk's eyes widened as rage consumed him. "Put Betty down, insects! Hulk will crush you all!" Ignoring his previous opponents, he turned to charge at the Ancient One.

But Garus acted quickly, channeling malevolent power into the earth. Phantom hands erupted from the ground, clawing at Hulk's massive legs and holding him in place.

"ROAR!" Hulk's eyes blazed red as he smashed the ground in fury, creating a deep fissure that snaked toward the Ancient One.

However, this was the Mirror Dimension. The Sorcerers of Kamar-Taj manipulated the terrain, causing the fissures to vanish without a trace.

Garus intensified the flow of icy energy, flooding the area around Hulk with frost. White chains of ice coiled around the Hulk, binding him tightly and halting his advance.

Even Mordo and the other sorcerers paused, surprised at Garus's power. Mordo frowned, muttering, "Evil power will ultimately lead to ruin."

He struggled to understand why the Ancient One had placed trust in Garus.

Meanwhile, the Ancient One noticed green blood seeping from Betty's body, and a sense of foreboding gripped her.

The Hulk's blood, coursing through Betty's wounds, was reshaping her body. The process was agonizingly painful, and few had ever survived it. General Ross had conducted similar experiments in the past, but even the most resilient soldiers had perished.

Watching Betty's body convulse, the Ancient One could only hope she would endure.

"You must keep the Hulk restrained," the Ancient One instructed.

"Master, it seems Garus is handling it," a student replied.

The Ancient One glanced over. Garus stood cloaked in frost-armored plating, with spectral bone shields faintly visible around him. His sword clashed blow-for-blow with the Hulk's fists. Frostmourne slashed through Hulk's tough skin, leaving deep, bleeding wounds. Pools of green blood dripped onto the ground, staining it.

As if this wasn't enough, Garus summoned an ice lich. The grotesque undead creature raised its staff, hurling icicles at the increasingly sluggish Hulk, eventually encasing him in a massive block of ice.

Meanwhile, Betty's transformation took a dramatic turn. Straining against magical bindings, she suddenly lashed out with a punch. The Ancient One, caught off guard by the proximity, barely managed to activate a golden shield, which absorbed the blow but sent her flying back.

"Master!"

"Ancient One!"

The sorcerers launched magical tethers at Betty, binding her once again. As Betty groggily regained consciousness, she felt the restraints and reflexively tugged, sending her captors sprawling.

Opening her eyes, Betty saw the green-tinged ruins around her and realized the horrifying truth. She recalled sneaking off to Mexico to see Bruce, only to be intercepted by her father. A scuffle ensued, and she'd been accidentally shot by a soldier.

But now... there was no wound. Instead, her skin was turning green, and her body was swelling.

"What's happening to me?" Betty whispered in panic as her limbs expanded, her clothing tearing apart. She grew to three times her normal size before the transformation ceased.

"Am I like Bruce now? A Hulk? But I wasn't exposed to radiation... or injected with serum!" Betty's confusion deepened.

"Betty."

The voice broke her train of thought. She turned to see a group of bald strangers in robes staring at her.

The Ancient One exhaled in relief. Betty retained her human consciousness, sparing them from dealing with another berserk Hulk. While her strength was considerably less than Bruce's, she maintained clarity of mind—something rare among gamma mutants.

"Dr. Banner has lost control. He thinks you're dead. We need you to calm him," the Ancient One urged.

Betty followed her gaze to the towering ice block in the distance. Inside, she could barely make out a hulking green silhouette thrashing violently.

"Bruce?!"

Ignoring her own transformation, Betty sprinted toward the ice, her massive footsteps shaking the ground.

Garus glanced up at the approaching figure. "A female Hulk? Is that... Betty?"

Dressed in little more than shredded undergarments, Betty ran toward the ice. "Bruce! Are you in there?"

Hearing her voice, the Hulk roared and thrashed harder. With a deafening crack, he shattered the icy prison and stepped out.

"Betty?" he murmured, momentarily stunned at her appearance.

Betty, too, froze. The realization of her transformation, and her scant clothing, left her flustered.

Garus watched with interest. "So Hulk's blood can do this?"

The Ancient One, misinterpreting his curiosity, said, "This kind of mutation is rare. Surviving it requires not just willpower, but incredible luck."

Garus smirked. "I'm not interested in their power... but wow, she's huge."

"What?" The Ancient One blinked, confused by his comment.
