Chapter 264: The Half-Fed Galactus

A colossal figure clad in crimson armor lounged lazily upon the ruins of a shattered planet, swathed in swirling black stardust, looking utterly content.

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open. He stared warily into the void before him.

"Eternity… what are you doing here?" Galactus' voice rumbled with suspicion.

"I'm here to offer you a deal," Eternity replied, his tone calm but cryptic. "A feast that'll leave you fully sated."

Galactus narrowed his eyes, skeptical. He distrusted Eternity's motives, yet his interest was piqued.

Even now—having devoured several energy-rich worlds—his insatiable hunger gnawed at him. If this offer had come any earlier, he'd have accepted it outright without a second thought.

"What are you hesitating for?" Eternity asked. "Have you already forgotten your hunger? You know the Celestials control countless inhabited worlds. I can give you their coordinates."

Galactus leaned forward. "What do you want in return?"

"I need you to eliminate a human. For you, it should be trivial."

A projection shimmered into view in front of them—Garus.

Eternity knew that this Earth-born being had once destroyed an avatar of Galactus. He was counting on that grudge to seal the deal.

Sure enough, the moment Galactus saw Garus' image, his fury ignited.

"I remember this creature. If I'd had that planet's coordinates, I'd have ground him to dust already!"

"Then you accept?"

Galactus stood. "Lead the way. I'll make him regret ever crossing the mighty Galactus."

In a nearby parallel universe, one of his avatars had recently been devoured by a horde of zombies. The shame of it burned him. Now he sought revenge—on all fronts.

A rift opened, leading directly into another universe. Without hesitation, Galactus stepped through it.

Eternity followed. As they emerged on the other side, a wave of chaotic energy pulsed through the space. In the distance, the remnants of the Scourge still lingered.

Thanks to Garus, the Xandarians had already escaped through a wormhole to the Moon, where they hoped to settle in a safe lunar city.

But now, a massive portal opened nearby, drawing everyone's attention. From it stepped two towering figures.

"Galactus… and the other one?" Garus narrowed his eyes. He instantly recognized the Devourer of Worlds, but the second figure was unfamiliar—though he vaguely resembled the Keepers from Ulduar on Azeroth, albeit much larger.

"That's Eternity, one of the Five Cosmic Entities," said a new voice beside him.

Startled, Garus turned to find Death had appeared without warning.

The arrival of these two titans sent shockwaves through the surrounding ether. Undead closest to them disintegrated instantly into clouds of ash.

"I'll handle Eternity," Death said grimly. "But Galactus… that one's trouble."

Death was weaker than Eternity, and she wasn't sure Garus could handle Galactus—especially not in his current, half-fed state after consuming multiple life-bearing worlds.

She hesitated, then said, "The Omniversal Overseer have forbidden the Five to engage in direct conflict. If we break that law, we lose all our power and authority. Let me try diplomacy first."

A clash between the Five Cosmic Entities could obliterate an entire universe. While devastating, it would still only destroy a single universe in the grand scheme.

Galactus and Eternity now loomed like gods, blotting out the stars. Death rose to confront them, her voice slicing through the void.

"Eternity! Do you really mean to oppose me?"

The Five had once been harmonious—a celestial family. But now, Eternity had been corrupted. Death seethed with rage. If she found the source, she'd lock its soul in torment for eternity.

"You've always sought to unbalance the cosmos," Eternity countered. "Pulling all life into your cold embrace. I won't allow it. I am the guardian of the Multiverse."

Multiverse guardian? Death nearly scoffed. Isn't that the Living Tribunal's job?

"You know what your actions lead to. Yes, I influenced Thanos to cull half the universe—my mistake. But without death, there is no cycle, no order."

"Enough talk!" Galactus interrupted impatiently. "I'm done waiting…"

A radiant band of cosmic energy erupted beside Eternity and hurtled toward Death.

"Be careful," Death whispered to Garus before vanishing into a shroud of black mist to intercept the oncoming blast.

Galactus, meanwhile, bent down mockingly, his voice laced with venom.

"Last time, one of my avatars vanished thanks to you. Let's see if you can handle this version. And tell Norrin Radd—I'll make him suffer. I'll devour his beloved world and force him to watch!"

The memory of Silver Surfer's betrayal ignited Galactus' rage.

The spatial corridor had been disrupted by Eternity's arrival. Now, a strange force sealed the area, cutting off escape. Garus had no means to reopen a portal.

Frostbind!

Surviving Lich Sorcerers joined forces to unleash a massive spell. Ice crawled across Galactus' towering body, encasing him in glacial prison.

But it didn't last long.

A blinding red glow pierced the ice from within, radiating unbearable heat.

"You think I'm the same Galactus you met before? Back then, I was starving. Now… well, I'm only half-full. But soon, with you and that other universe's Ant-Man—I'll erase humanity from the Multiverse!"

Sweat poured down Garus' brow. He hadn't felt heat like this in ages. It was like being trapped in a furnace. This Galactus was on another level.

The Lich Sorcerers hastily conjured magical shields, encasing Garus and the remaining Scourge warriors.

"Fragile shells," Galactus sneered. "Like eggshells to me."

With a single blazing punch, he shattered the shields. His fiery blow vaporized the mages instantly, their bodies disintegrating in a flash of smoke and ash.

Nearby, Blood Elf Vampires unleashed blood magic, attempting to corrode Galactus' form. But he marched through it unfazed, as if nothing had touched him.

Garus watched in horror as undead warriors turned to ash en masse.

Raising Frostmourne, he triggered the power of the Infinity Stones embedded within. Blinding beams of multicolored light erupted, slamming into Galactus and forcing him back several paces.

But Galactus countered immediately, hurling a crimson beam of his own straight at Garus.

"Thwack!"

Kel'Thuzad leapt into the blast's path, shield and all, but was pierced through, a massive hole torn through his chest. The ray weakened, and Garus barely managed to block the remainder with an Anti-Magic Shield.

A gray soul drifted from Kel'Thuzad's broken body into Garus.

"Master… I must rest for now. I will serve you again… soon."

All across the battlefield, the spirits of fallen high-level undead warriors rose in white wisps and flowed into Garus, retreating to the Realm of the Dead within him.

Damn it. Did Galactus swallow a truckload of Titan Dust or something? This guy's a monster.
