After a moment, you walk away, as you notice a golden trail. As you follow it, you see a member of the cult entering, walking directly with firm steps, but you ignore it.
You continue following the golden trail, reaching out of the sanctum, and you see the Golden Volatile.
You feel ready. This time you were going to win.
The Battle Against the Golden Volatile
Marco steps into the open field outside the sanctum, the golden rays of the early morning sun illuminating his ceremonial attire. The golden trail ends before the Golden Volatile, its glowing veins pulsating like a living beacon of energy. It stands taller and broader than before, its shimmering claws reflecting the sunlight as if daring Marco to try again. Its glowing golden eyes lock onto him, and with a guttural, resonating growl, it lunges.
Marco braces himself, his ceremonial clothes gleaming as he channels his radiance. The two collide with a thunderous impact, shaking the earth beneath them. Marco counters its opening strike with his radiant strength, his punches leaving faint trails of light, but the Golden Volatile is faster, landing devastating blows that send Marco skidding backward.
Phase 1: Struggle for Control
The battle is relentless. The Golden Volatile weaves around Marco's strikes, slashing at his armor and forcing him to stay on the defensive. Marco's glowing veins pulse brighter with each attack, his punches creating shockwaves, but his enemy shrugs them off, retaliating with calculated ferocity.
Marco grits his teeth, his claws raking against the Volatile's tough hide, but its speed and strength keep him at a disadvantage. Each impact feels like a blow to his core. Despite his evolution, Marco finds himself being outpaced.
His breath grows heavier, his glowing skin flickering faintly as exhaustion begins to creep in. The Golden Volatile leaps into the air, delivering a powerful kick that sends Marco crashing into a nearby boulder. For a moment, he's dazed, the world spinning around him.
Phase 2: The Vial's Power
As the Golden Volatile rushes toward him, Marco grabs at his vest, his hand trembling as it finds the vial with the blue liquid. With a growl of determination, he uncorks it and downs the contents in one swift motion. The liquid burns through his veins like fire, but he feels a surge of strength, clarity, and speed almost instantly.
Golden light erupts from his veins, and his ceremonial vest begins to glow brighter than ever before. He roars, a deep guttural growl that causes the Golden Volatile to hesitate for a moment. Using his newfound strength, Marco charges forward, matching the Volatile's speed and landing a devastating punch to its chest that sends it reeling.
The tides of the battle shift slightly. Marco's blows are heavier, his strikes faster, and his movements more fluid. The Golden Volatile struggles against his renewed vigor but still manages to keep a slight upper hand. Its relentless speed and experience push Marco back into a defensive stance.
Phase 3: The Flash and the Mother's Cry
Suddenly, as Marco is preparing another charge, a sharp, blinding flash fills his vision. His mind is overwhelmed with disjointed images of the Mother, her sun mask, and the sanctum. Her voice echoes in his head, calling out in desperation. Over this, he hears a deafening Volatile growl, one filled with unimaginable pain, as if coming from the Mother herself.
Marco stumbles, clutching his head, his glowing aura flickering. The Golden Volatile seizes the opportunity, slamming Marco into the ground. The world spins, and his thoughts blur as he struggles to regain his focus.
"Mother…" Marco growls under his breath, his voice a mix of desperation and rage. He rises shakily, his glowing eyes narrowing. Something inside him snaps—the thought of the Mother in pain reignites his resolve.
Phase 4: The Final Clash
The Golden Volatile stands between Marco and his path back to the sanctum. Without hesitation, Marco charges forward, his claws gleaming in the sunlight. The Golden Volatile meets him head-on, the two clashing with earth-shaking force.
The struggle is ferocious, every strike echoing like thunder. Marco's claws clash against the Golden Volatile's, sparks of light and energy flying with every impact. The blue liquid's effects push Marco beyond his limits, but the Golden Volatile's sheer power keeps it barely ahead.
Fueled by desperation and rage, Marco grabs the Volatile's arm, twisting it with a sickening crack. With a mighty roar, he lifts it off the ground, but the creature retaliates, slashing at his chest. Marco doesn't falter.
Using every ounce of strength left in him, Marco wraps his claws around the Golden Volatile's neck. They struggle, the Volatile's claws raking against Marco's glowing vest, but he refuses to let go. Slowly, painfully, he pushes his right hand upward, his glowing claws digging deeper into its neck.
With a final roar, Marco yanks upward, severing the Golden Volatile's head from its body. The creature collapses, golden blood pooling around its lifeless form. Marco stands over it, his breathing heavy, his glowing veins pulsating with intensity.
The Aftermath
Marco drops the severed head, his claws trembling from the effort. He looks down at the fallen Golden Volatile, his mind racing with thoughts of the Mother and her cry of pain. He doesn't have time to celebrate his victory—something is happening back at the sanctum, and he needs to return.
Without hesitation, Marco sprints back toward the sanctum, his glowing form a beacon in the dawn light. Whatever awaits him there, he knows it will define the next step in his journey to becoming the God of the Sun.
As you continue running, the blue liquid starts hitting you with hard impact and intensity, but your concern makes the mutation vary.
After a moment, despite your view becoming blurry, being disoriented, and getting flashes in between, your focus is only in the Mother and what could have happened.
You rush all you can while having the effects of the blue liquid, and after a big while, you reach the sanctum, entering with speed.
The sanctum is quiet, and when you go further, you see died members of the cult. You continue your way until reaching the last place where you saw the Mother, but she wasn't there.
You try to focus, searching where the Mother could be, until you enter the generators, and you see a red trail, but you also see the body of the Mother without her head.
You grab her body, but short after, you focus on that trail. You suddenly smell the trail, and notice... A strange feeling from it, making you remember Kyle Crane. Did Crane kill the Mother?
You rush, sprinting and dashing as you follow the red trail. You start going through some sewers passage in the sanctum, and you yell a very loud Volatile growl.
-"CRANE!!"
The way is very long, as you have to still fighting the effects of the vial. In the middle of the way, you lose your vision multiple times, feeling as teleporting and your body moving automatically, but you continue focusing, despite feeling your body leading you to the exit, you insist in following the red trail.
Time pass very quickly, the hours pass like minutes, as you continue struggling, but your focus in unbreakable.
You don't let yourself struggle, despite your body trembling, you push harder on yourself in running forward, to continue following the red trail, not letting anything get in the middle.
After so many hours later, you get out of the sewers, and see the sunset. You wonder how many hours has passed, and if the day already passed, but you hear a loud Volatile growl very near you, in front of you.
You see Crane in the process of becoming a Volatile, but his appearance is very different. Crane became the Night Hunter, but he was still in the process of turning in the Night Hunter.
You dash, getting in front of Crane, and between him and the children in the little park in front of Crane, where a mother with two children were there.
Crane shocks against you, and you grab him, lifting him up.
Crane struggles in your grip, but your fury burns you, while you focus on holding Crane. You have an intense and immense flame burning you, to kill Crane.
After a short moment, an immense beat up starts, as you start beating Crane with all you have, all your strength. You notice now your hands are fully human, and when you attack, they become claws, piercing through Crane with easy.
Despite your hands, you continue beating up Crane. With hard punches, piercing him with your claws, taking him by the legs and making him crash against the ground or any wall.
You were dropping all your fury on Crane. For you, Crane was like GRE. He abandoned the Tower, the survivors, everyone. You don't know the reasons of this, but you don't need reasons, but revenge and justice against him.
After a big while of the intense beat up, you throw Crane again, to crash him against a building, but suddenly, a helicopter gets in between, and Crane gets inside the helicopter, crashing against one of the doors of the helicopter.
The helicopter then starts leaving as closing the other door. You didn't hear the helicopter coming, neither noticed it already being there, but you see it has the words GRE, along the symbol too.
You remain catching your breath, while observing how the helicopter leaves the city, but suddenly, the helicopter explodes, and falls down, finishing in a bigger explosion, and you hear a Volatile growl in the distance.
Crane was fleeing.
You run and jump, trying to catch him, but the police in the streets starts shooting at you. The bullets impact you, but has no effect on you.
You try to ignore them, but they are trying their best to annoy you from what you see. So you get down, and stand in front of one of them, grabbing a pistol while the police has it's hands on the pistol, and with a strong grip, you close your hand, breaking the pistol instantly.
You then yell, growling in the officer's face.
-"GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
You know what you said, but they heard only a growl.
The officers remain paralyzed, so you turn to look, but you don't know where Crane went.
Crane had successfully fled.
With frustration, you kill the officers, and grab their bodies, carrying them with you, back to Harran.
Your way was now shorter, as the effects of the vial were gone, so you travel a lot faster, reaching the sanctum in less of an hour.
You were going to feed your home nest with this bodies, and then continue with the cult.
But before you continue going through the Sanctum, you stop for a moment, dropping the bodies, looking at yourself.
Marco's New Appearance After the Blue Vial Mutation: The Ascended Luminary Volatile
Marco's mutation after drinking the blue vial transformed him into a truly radiant and imposing figure, fully embodying the role of the God of the Sun. While the vial induced the same volatile evolution that created Crane's Night Hunter form, Marco's unique path through the cult and his bond with the Sun and the Mother forged a distinct result, blending divinity with monstrosity.
Head and Face: Golden Aura: Marco's face glows faintly with a golden hue, radiating warmth but also a sense of power. The glow emanates from his skin naturally, giving him an ethereal appearance.
Human Features: Despite the monstrous changes to his body, his head and neck retain their human appearance. His eyes, however, are anything but human:
Eyes: His irises glow with a radiant, shifting golden light that pulses faintly with each heartbeat, visible even in darkness. The sclera (whites of the eyes) are now pitch black, further highlighting the divine glow of his irises.
Sun Mask Symbol: A faint, glowing imprint of the cult's Sun mask symbol can now be seen etched into his forehead, as if branded by the Mother's influence.
Teeth and Jaw: His Volatile maw can still emerge when enraged or feeding. When relaxed, his face appears normal, but his mouth can unhinge at will to reveal razor-sharp fangs.
Upper Body: Chest and Torso: Marco's ceremonial vest is now permanently fused with his skin, seamlessly merging armor and flesh. The glowing Sun mask emblem on the chest plate now shines brighter than ever, pulsating in sync with his heartbeat. His ribs are slightly visible beneath the fused armor, appearing skeletal yet metallic, with faint golden light glowing through the gaps.
Veins: Glowing veins crisscross his exposed skin and fused armor, pulsating a warm golden light that intensifies when he exerts himself or uses his abilities.
Muscle Structure: His muscles are visibly more defined and larger, but not bulky—his form is a perfect balance of strength, agility, and elegance.
Hands and Arms: His hands are now permanently Volatile-like. The claws are sharper, longer, and more metallic in texture, shimmering faintly as if forged from sunlight itself. Despite their intimidating appearance, they can retract slightly to appear less monstrous when needed.
Lower Body: Legs and Feet: His legs are powerful and streamlined, optimized for speed and leaping. Like his hands, his feet resemble those of a Volatile, with reinforced, clawed digits designed for gripping and climbing. His calves and thighs are encased in a blend of flesh and armor, with golden veins running along their surface, pulsing with energy when he moves.
Ceremonial Robes: While torn and fused into his form during his evolution, remnants of the ceremonial robes remain as flowing tattered strips of fabric around his waist and legs, glowing faintly like embers.
Overall Body Glow:
Marco's entire body radiates a faint glow that grows brighter when he exerts himself or channels his power. At rest, the light is subtle, resembling the first rays of dawn. In moments of fury or when invoking his powers, the light becomes blinding, forcing enemies to shield their eyes or turn away.
Symbol of the Sun God:
Marco has now fully become the representation of the God of the Sun. His appearance strikes awe and fear into both infected and non-infected alike. Non-infecteds see him as a savior or protector, while infected recognize him as the apex of their kind—a divine leader.
Changes in Personality and Movement:
Posture: Marco now carries himself with confidence and a commanding presence. His every step feels deliberate, and his movements are fluid yet predatory, blending human grace with Volatile precision.
Aura: Those near Marco feel an instinctual pull toward him. Non-infecteds feel a sense of hope and protection, while infected are drawn to him as if recognizing his dominance.
Marco now embodies the perfect balance between humanity and monstrosity, a luminous figure standing at the crossroads of light and shadow. He is no longer just Marco or Draemir—he is The Ascended Luminary Volatile, the God of the Sun.
