SPLASH
Still in a trance-like state, Allan threw himself into the well that stood in front of a large altar inside the Hall of Blessings.
Brenda, who was with him, was completely confused by her friend's behavior.
"What is he doing!?"
Even though she didn't understand what was happening, she couldn't let him drown in the well. Quickly, she removed her vest and weapon from her shoulder and set them aside, preparing to rescue Allan.
"I can't!" Just as she was about to jump in, Brenda realized she couldn't get close enough to the well!
A force seemed to act like a barrier, preventing her from getting close enough to the water.
"What the hell is going on!?" She looked around, trying to find some kind of rope that she could use to pull Allan back to the surface.
The Hall of Blessings was enormous, leaving Brenda in awe, as if she couldn't believe her own eyes.
The hall, in contrast to the modest exterior, soared more than 30 meters high, creating a vast and imposing space, almost like a completely isolated realm. The walls were adorned with stained glass windows, which filtered sunlight and bathed the room in soft, ethereal colors, providing an almost celestial atmosphere.
Along the hall, long benches were arranged in two vertical rows, with a narrow aisle between them, allowing passage to the other side of the space. In front of the first row of benches, an open well was at the same level as the floor, drawing attention at the center of the hall. To reach the altar at the front, one had to ascend a series of steps, elevating them above the level of the benches and the well. The altar was slightly elevated, while the well remained as a central feature on the same plane as the benches, contributing to the sacredness and harmony of the space.
"What an incredible place!" For a moment, Brenda forgot the situation she was in and was mesmerized by the beauty of the surroundings.
It was as if the almost divine atmosphere of the hall made her forget any problems.
And that's exactly what she did. Like magic, everything that had been stressing her out simply vanished from her mind.
"How amazing." She began to contemplate the four gods depicted in the stained glass above the altar.
The god of death, Elderatchin, was depicted with an octopus head and wearing a dark turban that concealed any other physical features, except for his face.
The god of wisdom, Jah, was a gray humanoid figure with an elongated head covered with numerous pairs of eyes on his forehead. Additionally, he appeared to be holding a giant book in his arms.
The depiction of the goddess Bandarah was identical to the statue in the center of the city.
Finally, the last god represented the elements. Harin was depicted as an angelic figure with two pairs of wings on his back. The face was so androgynous that it was almost impossible to tell whether it belonged to a male or female figure.
Brenda stood still, staring at the four gods, but her gaze was fixed more intently on the goddess Bandarah, feeling some kind of affinity with her.
Suddenly, Brenda began to hear a voice.
"My daughter, come closer..." A melodious voice, yet cruel and ancient, made Brenda walk without realizing it, up the steps toward the figure of Bandarah.
She stood there, her eyes slowly turning blood red.
Meanwhile, Allan still felt the sensation of relaxation throughout his body, but now something had changed.
In addition to the feeling of weakness, he also felt his body growing lighter, almost as if he was expelling something through his pores.
What he didn't notice was that the water was becoming stained with red and black as it seeped from his body, flowing out as he sank further into the well. Moreover, it seemed that each time the red and black liquid left his body, he grew thinner, as if the well were liquefying him.
The deeper he sank, the thinner he became. But that wasn't the only change—when he reached a certain depth, his dark hair began to fall out of his scalp and float in the water.
As his bony back hit the bottom of the well, Allan felt as though he had passed through the brick floor.
He realized that the comforting sensation began to fade as soon as he started falling.
It was as if the bottom of the well had opened, and Allan was falling deeper, except this time there was no more water.
"Hmm?" Allan, now hairless and almost devoid of fat or muscle, finally regained control of his mind, waking up from the trance he had been in.
"Where am I!?" He wondered as he realized he was in some sort of dark dimension. No light reached this place, making every direction Allan looked in completely black.
He even tried to look at himself, but realized he couldn't see anything.
There was simply no light to reflect anything.
"Finally, finally..." The ancient voice echoed once again. This time, it was clear that the entity behind the voice was excited about something.
For Allan, it was also the first time he heard that voice without feeling mentally confused. It was only now that he realized the entity's voice was likely feminine.
Shiver, shiver, shiver
Suddenly, for some reason, Allan began to tremble as he heard the voice.
He was afraid, but it was a primitive fear, as if something had been imprinted on his soul to make him fear the owner of that voice.
It was a strange and uncomfortable feeling for Allan.
"Do not fear, my child. It is unknown to you, but the time I have waited for this moment cannot be measured, not even in the lifetimes of the universe!"
When the voice spoke again, it no longer carried that primal fear. Instead, it conveyed a calming energy that allowed Allan to stop trembling.
Where the fear had once seemed to come from deep within his soul, now a calmness filled every fiber of his being, something he had never felt before—not even when he was descending into the well.
"Who are you?" Feeling much more at ease and comfortable, though still unable to see the entity, Allan felt brave enough to ask.
"My name and existence were erased long ago; at least, that is what most believe."
"I am the beginning, but I am also the end."
"At the same time, I am the middle."
"I am not a god, but I am all of them."
"What?" Allan, though he understood the words, still couldn't grasp what the entity was trying to convey.
"What I mean, my child, is that my existence can be described as nothing or everything. I am the beginning, but I am also the end."
For some reason, even though the words remained nearly the same, Allan understood what the entity was trying to communicate this time. It was as though the entity's words conveyed more knowledge than anything else in the universe.
"Are you the beginning of the universe?" He asked, swallowing hard as he realized he might be speaking to a being much older than he had imagined.
"No, that task was given to all who came after me. I am only the source... the source of everything."
Once again, Allan was confused, not understanding what the entity meant.
"Just give up, child. Your knowledge of how the universe works is too limited for you to understand me."
"And you don't need to understand me, it's I who need to understand you. I will take you as my first child. It is I who must give you your birthday presents today." The voice seemed even more excited this time.
"What!? T-This is impossible... I should be abandoned... I was born without any trace of divinity in my meridians." This time, Allan understood directly what the entity meant, but ironically, it was this realization that left him more confused.
"I already told you, child, I am the source. The reason other humans couldn't find any trace of divinity in you is because they were searching in the wrong places."
Allan fell silent, waiting for the entity to elaborate further.
And that's exactly what it did.
"They searched for traces of death in you, but found none. Then they searched for traces of wisdom, and again found nothing. The same with blood and elements."
"Foolishly, they searched separately for what they should have looked for together. I already said, and repeat, I am the source, and my child will carry this within themselves."
"But... Even if they had wanted to find what I had hidden in you when you were born, they still wouldn't have found it."
"After all, this is a gift that you will be the first to receive."
"Allan Andromeda, are you willing to abandon your old self and become something completely new?"
"Are you willing to make this day—the day you were born for the first time—also the day you will be born for the second time!?"
'Are you willing to become Allan Chaos Andromeda?'
With that, the infinite darkness gave way to the creation of entire universes. Allan watched in shock as he saw creation happening all around him simultaneously.
He was paralyzed for a few seconds, until he finally nodded in agreement.
' Then, I will allow you to become the first child of Chaos! '
