Chapter 105: Biscuit's Concerns

"As expected, only three abilities were successfully extracted, five was too many. To make sure the extraction worked, I couldn't risk equipping any items as a 'player'," Oboro mused.

"Nevertheless, the summoners' abilities remained intact. Three abilities in all: Senna's passive Absolution, Thresh's Infernal Curse, and Ekko's Time-Space Fracture. That should be enough!"

As Oboro stood motionless, he immediately felt the shift in his mental energy.

The Nen around his body rippled.

A thick green mist rose around him, with countless spectral shadows writhing in it as they let out bone-chilling howls. This manifestation was one of his abilities, the Infernal Curse.

The curse itself dealt no direct damage, but simply allowed Oboro to harvest soul fragments from defeated enemies, which he could then collect and absorb.

His second ability, Time-Space Fracture, allowed him to return a target to its position and state several seconds earlier, creating a localized temporal explosion. The damage done was based on the power of his "thoughts," his Nen energy.

As for his core Nen ability, the materialized human face button served as his connection to the game world. Oboro had to first activate the "Endless Dreamer's Game Treasury" before accessing his current form with three Nen abilities at his disposal.

The button itself was powerless. Its sole purpose was to replace player data and bridge the gap between game and reality.

Trading one ability for three was a worthy exchange!

A simple materialization system could never accomplish this alone.

Oboro had used his understanding of the principles of "Nen Ability Development" to grant himself abilities that mirrored the trait system.

Most frightening was how he could exploit loopholes with two of these abilities to endlessly increase his attributes and power.

This level of abuse was unprecedented.

Days later, when Oboro left Gaming Island and met Biscuit, he revealed his newly acquired Nen ability. The beautiful blonde was so shocked that she momentarily lost her composure.

The key difference was that he had gained these abilities rather than developing them naturally.

In all her years, Biscuit had never met anyone with such an "unconventional" approach, who could conceive and successfully execute a method that others wouldn't dare imagine!

When she first witnessed Oboro's Nen ability in the Sky Arena, Biscuit felt that she had "learned something new", as if she had received a lesson from her junior. Now, that feeling returned even stronger!

The psychological impact surpassed her first encounter!

She found herself wanting to look into Oboro's mind to understand his thought process.

"I understand now. Before, you had to bear all the consequences of your abilities yourself. But in training mode, a separate server within the program, you have more freedom. Some game rules can be bypassed without affecting other servers or the main game."

In her room, Biscuit frowned, her mind struggling to process all this.

"Exactly."

Oboro nodded.

"You used to operate as a single server entity. Even exploiting bugs meant dealing with the consequences. That's no longer necessary. The player agreement maintains the stability of the game world. You've used your materialized Nen to replace player data, returning your body to reality while gaining three new abilities."

"Normally, game elements cannot exist independently outside of their environment."

"Hence the extraction process. Although these hero abilities exist as game content, the hero characters from which they were derived are now unavailable to players."

Oboro explained.

"Good heavens!"

Biscuit collapsed into her chair and covered her mouth. She was beginning to realize that Oboro had accomplished something unprecedented.

The complexity was beyond what even the Chairman could imagine.

"But these summoner abilities are still abilities, right? And leaving the game to enter reality must have consequences. The basic rules of Nen remain unchanged."

Biscuit's mind raced with the implications.

"Correct. That's why I chose only basic runes and summoner skills from the game content to minimize the difficulty of extraction. As for the consequences, well, only three out of five skills remain, and the talent runes did not transfer."

Oboro shrugged. "Besides, the summoner skills are fixed now, they can't be changed."

"No!"

Biscuit shook her head vigorously, her ponytail swaying as her expression grew serious. "If I understand correctly, you can no longer return to the Island of Games as a player; once you're extracted, the rules of the game are invalidated and you can no longer use their power. Those abilities derived from game skills will work differently than their originals."

"Furthermore, this training mode must remain active, it can't be deactivated.

"Finally, Gaming Island cannot be attacked or destroyed. Even after extraction and substitution, your new skills still come from the main game."

"Oh?"

Oboro raised his eyebrows, looking at Biscuit with surprise. "Impressive!"

"What do you mean?! You think I'm some gaming-illiterate idiot incapable of basic reasoning?"

Although it was clearly a compliment, Biscuit's expression darkened.

She put her hands on her hips and yelled indignantly.

She crossed her arms and puffed out her cheeks. "I've lived twice as long as you."

"No, no, as my senior, such deductions are natural. I truly admire your insight."

Oboro smiled wryly.

Biscuit's observations were correct. Originally, Absolution increased its attack range by collecting black mist from fallen targets. Twenty stacks triggered a qualitative change, similar to critical strikes.

But now the stacking system was gone.

It might take many more kills to achieve the original twenty-stack effect, maybe a hundred, maybe two hundred.

The basic function of Infernal Curse remained: each kill provided small increases in armor and magic power.

However, he had yet to determine how these stats would scale with his current strength.

To prevent the destruction of Gaming Island or outside interference, he retained two summoner skills: Teleport and Flash.

"In just over a year, you have quietly created a game, and beyond your new Nen ability, your base strength has increased significantly." Biscuit watched Oboro's form carefully.

"Care for a sparring match? Perfect chance to test those three skills."

Oboro smiled.

"As if! This beautiful girl's time is far too precious to waste on the likes of you!"

Biscuit sneered. "So you summoned me here just to show off?"

"Not at all."

Oboro turned and took a treasure chest out of his bag.

Biscuit's eyes lit up as she bounded over to open it.

Inside were three pristine crystals, each a different color and cut.

"Wow!"

The girl exclaimed, her face beaming with joy as she pressed her cheek to the gems in pure delight.

Oboro had promised Biscuit these gems earlier.

A reward for the mission to the Bozwa tribe, where Biscuit had accompanied Owl out of concern for his safety.

He was deeply grateful.

The meeting with Biscuit and Wing had been completely unexpected.

Oboro had never imagined that he'd interact with this canonical figure; though the woman often argued with him, there was a genuine kindness beneath their bickering.

"Since you've shown some conscience, I'll accept these with a smile."

Biscuit's tone softened as she carefully tucked the box away.

She turned and headed for the door.

"Leaving already?"

Oboro called after her.

"I'm going to check out this game you created."

Biscuit replied without turning around.

Then she left.

Outside the hotel, Biscuit's cheerful expression turned serious.

Although she didn't know the exact nature of the three abilities Oboro had worked so hard to acquire, her understanding of him suggested that they must be devastating, perfectly aligned with his quest for power.

"His presence feels completely different now."

"His blood flows stronger, the outer tendons and bones unified. In the past year, he hasn't just developed this game, he has continued his training relentlessly."

"Even I feel a touch of fear. His 'edge' is getting sharper, Chairman, how long can you keep him in check?"

These thoughts troubled Biscuit's mind, and worry crept into her eyes.

Creating a functional game world from reality in such a short time was beyond most people's abilities.

Moreover, the limitations of Oboro's abilities went beyond his explanation; they would have been much more severe, but he had cleverly used the 'Player Agreement', servers, NPCs, and game mechanics to circumvent more than half of them.

This wasn't simple skill development, it was the acquisition of power by indirect means, it required exceptional execution, imagination, conceptual understanding, and data manipulation The more Biscuit thought about it, the more uncomfortable she became.

Such individuals would stop at nothing to achieve their goals.

What worried Biscuit even more was that Oboro wasn't the only such person in the Association.

"I should inform the chairman."

She pulled out her phone as she walked.

She dialed Netero's number.

After three months of training Oboro, the old man had seemingly lost interest and become a completely different person.

Something had happened between the two, the young and the old.

The old man remained silent.

Unusually mysterious

But she could guess parts of it.
