Chapter 1: Breakout

Present day, Elysium Heights City

********

The clamor of machinery echoed through the sterile halls of Genetech Labs, a sprawling facility hidden on the outskirts of the city. Inside, behind a series of heavy reinforced doors, a creature lay in a containment chamber, shrouded in darkness and secrets. Scientists had spent years perfecting its genetic makeup—a mongrel of human and animal DNA that was meant to revolutionize medicine. Instead, it had become a prisoner of its own creation.

Dr. Evelyn Kade, the lead researcher, paced anxiously in the control room, her brown eyes flickering between computer screens displaying biological data. "We're pushing the limits of nature. Are we sure this is safe?" she questioned, her voice tinged with a mix of excitement and trepidation.

"Safe? No. But we're on the brink of a breakthrough, replied Dr. Lucas Grant, an ambitious young scientist with tousled hair and a fervent gleam in his eyes. "Think of the possibilities, Evelyn! We could cure diseases, extend life—"

Before he could finish, the room was jolted by a sudden loud bang from the containment chamber. A surge of alarm lights filled the space as the monitors flickered erratically. "Security breach!" a voice echoed over the intercom. Panic surged through Evelyn.

In the darkened containment chamber, the creature—nearly eight feet tall and muscular, with a grotesque blend of human and animal features—moved with a primal grace. Its skin glistened, mottled in shades of gray and brown, and its yellow eyes pierced through the murk. Years of captivity had bred a smoldering rage within it, and now, it sensed its moment of liberation.

With one powerful sweep of its arm, the creature shattered the reinforced glass of its cell, sending shards flying. Security alarms blared, but it was too late; the beast was free. It barreled through the lab, crushing everything in its path, sending scientists scattering in panic. Dr. Kade, frozen for only a moment, finally broke into action, trailing after the creature as it burst through the lab's front doors into the sprawling city beyond.

Two years back

Two years ago, a deeply insightful conversation took place between Dr. Evelyn Kade and her daughter Elena. They were gathered in the warmth of their living room, the soft glow of a lamp illuminating stacks of research papers and sketches that littered the coffee table. The atmosphere was thick with a mix of excitement and apprehension as they discussed Elena's groundbreaking project. Elena had initially been enthusiastic about the potential of her mother's work, especially regarding the use of a novel serum.

However, as the discussions progressed and the scientific implications of the serum became clearer, Elena's enthusiasm began to wane. She was a bright and perceptive young woman, keenly aware of the ethical dilemmas that often lurked behind scientific advancement. After witnessing the initial results of the serum—an unsettling transformation that edged dangerously close to monstrosity—Elena was filled with dread. Fear gripped her heart; she couldn't shake the image of what had been created, something that seemed far removed from the noble intentions her mother espoused.

"Mom," Elena pleaded, her voice trembling with urgency, "we need to stop this project. The serum—it's not just a step forward for humanity. What we're seeing—it's disturbing. This isn't the solution we envisioned!"

Dr. Kade, a dedicated scientist whose passion for her work knew no bounds, remained steadfast. "Elena, you have to understand. This serum has the potential to revolutionize medicine. It can help us combat diseases, enhance human capabilities, and ultimately lead to a healthier society. We're on the brink of something incredible here!"

Each word of her mother's felt like a wave crashing against the shore of Elena's growing fears. Dr. Kade was consumed by a vision of a future where illness was a thing of the past, but Elena could see the shadows—dangers that lay hidden beneath the surface of innovative breakthroughs. She was torn between the admiration for her mother's brilliant mind and a visceral fear of what they might unleash upon the world.

"Healing doesn't have to come at such a cost," Elena argued, her voice rising with passion. "What if we're playing god? What if we create something that we can't control, something that harms

Three days after the

conversation

after her conversation with her mother, Elena headed to the lab, determined to stop the project with her lawyer by her side. However, Lucas Grant had other plans.but Elena had gathered enough evidence to take legal action

In a room they were talking about the matter every one included in the project were sited, and Elena lawyer concluded

" am sorry Dr. Lucas Grant but you have to stop this operation, just look around you

what do you think your doing you've killed up to 30 civilians..." before he could complete the word a bullet went straight into his head and died at the spot

"what the hell Lucas you just kil...."Evelyn was cut short by Lucas

with a mischievous stare and a smile on his face, as he hold the gun to his face

"Wow that was unexpected"

Evelyn was about to speak when Lucas interopted again "shut the fuck up Evelyn, don't pretend to me I can't go this far and stop now if there is any problem with the project we'll just have to amend it" he stood up and walk to Elena

he hold her jaw and smile"you started the hull thing naw you want to stop, hmmm that is strange" she looked around her for an opening and she saw an opportunity to make her move, she gave Lucas a solid punch without thinking she picked up a glass cup on the table and smashed it on the hand he used in holding the gun

the cup broke into pieces and pierced his hand " Ahhhuuchheee" he let go of the gun instantly with a shout of pain as it landed on the ground, with out thinking she kicked the weapon under the table

and ran out of the room.

"get out of my way you moron" she shouted as she ran true the hallway that

leads outside, the next thing she knew she was outside the building, then everything went blank as she fell to the ground.

Back in the meeting room

"were the fuck is that idiot" Lucas said with a face that is giving vibe of killing someone or anything "are you blind to see she just left" Evelyn said with joy in her voice

" No,no,no that can't be happening"

" come on Lucas just let her go she is no threat to us anymore"

this time he look at her with a face that say ' you know your daughter' with her face turn to the other side " make the call then, but don't send the cleaners" she turned har face to him with a serious look"I know what you're about to say but don't worry she's my daughter I'll talk to her, and on my own"

"Okay, okay what ever" he picked up his phone from the table and make the call.

One hour after In the woods

Elena walk through the woods looking at the blood on her hands dripping Down, wondering what she had done when everything went blank again

"how did i get blood on my hands" she said looking at her hands.

"I was just running when someone just attacked me..." then she looked up and saw dead men lying all around and some had there inside out it was a gross sight.

"what have I do...." before she could complete the sentence she felt a sharp pain on the side of her head as the butt of the gun hit her head and she fell to the ground and the last thing she say was the word "Eva".
