CENTURIES AGO

Past Life - Ancient Times

He is the Fifth Prince of the widely feared and broadly known Zoah Kingdom and the only prince without a mother.

His mother - Linnea Fae- was the King’s - his father - first and only true love but there was a downside to their love because she was not from a royal family or in the least, a noble family and she was considered as a liability - unworthy for the position of Queen.

The King's other wives, by the leadership of the Queen, connived and poisoned her.

She knew there was no remedy to her deteriorating health and since there was no evidence, the King could not punish them.

She was saddened that she was going to be leaving her three year old son behind and that hurt her more than her health did and so she made up her mind to do something terrible.

To the most dangerous and heartless of sorceresses, she took her son to, for a powerful comcotion that would place him above all others.

So that in the days when she would be no more, he would have something he can rely on and something that can sustain him, in a world as wicked as the Palace.

The Sorceress having searched for whom to perform her latest portion on and having sought for who would be capable of bearing it, had fed the young prince her concoction.

For such a great deed to be done, a sacrifice had to be paid and Linnea had willingly offered her life. She had about two more years to struggle with the pain of the poison in her system but what use was it, if she was still going to leave her son behind…and so she risked it all.

She had made the King promise to take care of her son to the best of his abilities but she knew everything about the Palace.

The King was not truly the greatest and the most powerful were those who controlled the King. Those who by their sayings and votes had placed him on the throne and so he was more of a puppet than a King.

Kamaz had grown up through the years, alone and constantly treated like an outcast.

The King had made sure he had the best of everything but what is the best of everything without having anyone to willingly share it with - it was utterly useless.

The other Princes and their mothers took great pride and time in spreading false rumours about him so that he would never be considered for the throne, knowing that the King had him fully at heart.

But he was never after that.

He wasn't after what he could get. All he wanted were sincere smiles and words around him and not those that had inferences.

He desired the true love of family.

He resigned his fate and so he was rarely seen and could only be found in the mountains, pushing his body beyond as he gave his heart and time to training his body to fight.

He decided to be a warrior to protect the Kingdom.

As he trained relentlessly, he found out some abilities that seemed weird to him. He could hear things from afar off, he could perceive things that weren't even within reachable distance and he could clearly see from miles away.

What had shocked and scared him the most was the fact that whenever he cut himself during training or got severely injured, he instantly gets healed.

Year after year, he had won his brothers in tournaments organised by the Kingdom and this earned his Father's love and fanned his stepbrothers and stepmothers hatred towards him.

But last year, he did not show up for the Tournament because he noticed his abilities were beyond the normal and he had to do a lot to bring himself under normalcy and act as normal as others did.

People said it was because he was scared of the First Prince and he had quickly chosen the easier route.

One year of controlling his mind and body, he could control what it was that was within him although he knew not what it was.

He had been subjected to severe pain and pressure and he was…ready!

Ready to earn the respect of the people and ready to be looked up to.

**************************

The crowd cheered loudly.

It was time for their beloved Prince Acheron and Prince Kamaz to fight.

This has been the most anticipated fight for the past two days since the tournament began.

The people loved Prince Acheron because he frequented the market places and gave a lot of things to the poor.

They were just emotionless towards Kamaz because he rarely showed himself to the people except during special occasions and some said he felt like he was above others because he had the King’s backing.

Everyone rooted for Prince Acheron, especially a brunette who had dropped her Pipa in her home, just to watch the handsome Prince who regularly took her breath away.

Prince Acheron was brought to the pit and the crowd went wilder with their screams and cheers.

The Queen felt so happy and proud that her son was not going to encounter any obstruction when it was time for him to be king because he was loved by all.

Prince Acheron walked out majestically, clad in the finest armour and with the shiniest sword.

He was tall and huge and his physique alone suggested him to be a leader. His small eyes were sharp and seductive and the women swooned over him.

Finally, it was time for Lord Kamaz to be called to the pit.

The announcer had not many characteristics to mention of the prince since he didn't know him and he just went right ahead.

“We welcome, the Fifth Prince of Zoah…Ragnar Kamazotz”

There were sighs, some claps, and a few casual cheers here and there as they waited for him to come out.

Kamaz came out, clad in only a pair of black baggy pants, his sword in hand and his hair packed behind him.

He looked simple yet commanding and fatal.

He looked beyond what most persons had in their heads on the kind of person he was.

The eyes of those that were on Prince Acheron quickly moved to him.

The eyes of the women raked along his toned abs, the men wondered why he was with no armour.

As they were about to start, one of the subjects of the courts who was on the Queen's side stood up from the portion accrued to the Royal family and shouted when everywhere was deathly still.

“What do you mean by this show Prince Kamazotz? I hope you know what you are getting into without the proper attire. Our dear Prince Acheron can still spare some minutes for you to get properly dressed!” Courtman Alloham asked.

The crowd began to mutter, murmur and grumble and this was exactly what the Queen wanted.

She didn't have to do anything for him to be put in the bad light this time around. He had walked into it by himself.

Despite the fact that Kamaz didn't want to say anything, he knew he had to speak because a question had been directed at him and more so, in the presence of those he hoped to impress.

Impress because this was his late mother's wish for him.

“Thanks for your concern Lord Alloham but the armour only makes me weaker when I have it on. Trust me when I say I am fully protected this way!” Kamaz said clearly and concisely, with a smile. He gave a small bow before turning to face his opponent.

The Queen smiled, her son’s poisonous blade was going to strike him in no time and he would be dead before he could even be treated. ‘How pathetic!’

“Let the fight begin!”
