LORD KAMAZ

Present Time

The other men had simply passed out when they saw what had happened to their partner. The sight was too grotesque for a normal human to bear.

In order not to go back to the mansion with the level of fury very much alive in his system, Kamaz decided to wander in the untouched forest at the outskirts of the city.

The wild life present either ignored him or ducked for their lives, sensing the amount of bloodlust and predatory aura emanating from his passing shadow.

Kamaz wandered for a while, giving fire to the thoughts of death and blood. The darkness within him had longed for something close to a rampage for centuries and having a near-taste had almost tipped him off the edge.

He has lived very unperturbed with the activities of humans and preferred the solitude of his presence but now he had every reason to be involved with their kind because the reason his heart still beats is one of them.

It was drawing close to night time but he came across a feature that draws him to this area of nature. A beautiful lake.

From a rocky cliff, water cascaded into the lake giving a steamy ambience probably because of this time of the day.

Gradually, he stripped till he was bare, placing his clothes on a rock. He released the band that held his hair in place and his hair flowed around his shoulder.

Like the regal King he was - despite the fact that he had nothing on- he trotted to the body of water and as he walked in deeper, the water rose covering his body. From his ankles, to his waist and to the ancient symbols tattooed in a line by his side. The symbols stopped exactly at the V- line that leads to his lower body.

He entered till he was completely immersed.

For ten minutes he was under water, eyes closed, hair floating but he was very much aware of everything happening around him.

He remembered her hand as she held onto his tightly while she was dreaming. She had obviously been terrified of whatever it was that she had seen.

He wished there was a medium that could aid him to take part in her dream so as to drive whatever that was petrifying her far. But he knew that medium would involve a certain specie of people he didn't want to get involved with. He also knew they would soon pay him a visit, especially since The Prophecy of Zeda's return has been fulfilled.

But he wasn't ready for their visit. It would only lead to another Prophecy and he knew it wasn't going to be anything favourable this time.

His mind still had some ponderings to do - to ponder about how best to kill those men that had made her so scared. He had read the letters they had sent to her mail and it had only fanned the craftiness of their deaths that were being planned. They deserve a grand signature death to the afterlife!

But he couldn't continue because he could sense a presence…no two persons, right above the lake. Being under water masked their scents a great deal but he could still sense that they were vampires.

He rose to the surface of the water and was not surprised when he saw Falkur. But he wasn't alone. He was with Rena - one of the toughest vampire females who had drunk his blood directly. She was in charge of monitoring the affairs of the other vampires that live amongst humans.

One look at Falkur and Falkur knew the question in Kamaz’ eyes. He lifted himself till it was only his lower body that was submerged and he raked a hand on his hair that had gone sleek courtesy of the water.

Rena’s eyes could not follow the subservient rules and stick to her shoes and she bravely looked up to see Lord Kamaz. Her eyes dreamt at the sight of him.

He was magnificent. If he was ever to reveal himself as often as he should to the world, the whole earth could lose its sanity. If he was ever to become a model, male and female models alike would lose their jobs permanently. He was just breathtaking!

“I'm sorry my Lord but she insisted on seeing you! I tried to stop her but…” Falkur stopped his rambling when Kamaz blinked his eyes lazily in his direction. Kamaz faced Rena.

“I'm sorry for barging in on your peaceful time even though I know how much you val..” Rena was interrupted.

"State your purpose!” Kamaz ordered, his rich bristly voice echoing calmly in the forest as he began to move out of the water.

When she saw him begin to move, her eyes lowered as her knees weakened. The hairs on her skin went on end and she tried to still her hammering heart so her voice could be steady and form coherent sentences.

She also smiled. She felt like she had achieved something because she had gotten Lord Kamaz to speak to her.

It was rare to hear him speak and such moments were considered priceless.

She purposely started with an apology she knew he had no longing to hear because she knew that would spike an irk. All she wanted was to hear his voice and she had.

“Hector accused Ramses of making him lose three important clients and they had a fight.” Rena said.

"The need to see Lord Kamaz means there was more damage bigger than you that was incurred. What are they?” Falkur asked, knowing that is the question Lord Kamaz has in mind.

He couldn't read Lord Kamaz' mind but this is the special thing about him, he could tell to an extent and in some scenarios what exactly his lord was thinking.

If not, they could spend the whole day without progress because Lord Kamaz wouldn't say a thing again.

**********”

Rena followed them to the mansion that night as she planned on spending the night there before sojourning by dawn.

But as they entered the living room, the scent of a human filled her nostrils.

“A new human is here my Lord" She pointed as Kamaz kept on walking while her eyes scanned the length and breadth of the luxurious looking room, searching for the human with the alluring scent.

Kamaz walked to the triple seat sofa and there he lifted up a sleeping Zeda into his arms.

Zeda, unaware of the beings in the space she had promised herself not to fall asleep, snuggled further into Kamaz' hold.

Rena's heart churned!

‘Who. Is. That?’
