PRINCESS OF BAILIMI

Centuries ago,

That night, she prepared a warm bath for Kamaz. After his bath, he sat in a black loose apparel before the vanity table. Zelda was behind him with a comb. She took his damp hair in her hand and began to comb it.

His eyes closed as he relished in her touch in his hair.

“Will you tell me what happened out there?” She asked.

“Nothing important.

Just the usual, the same. Blood, war, and tears," Kamaz said in a neutral tone; even though with his eyes closed he could still hear the screams, the cries, and the pain of the weak in the North.

If one remains only in the capital, one could easily be deceived into thinking that the rest of the Kingdom was flourishing in that same manner.

He remembered a woman in particular who had birthed two children. One of the savages from Griski divided one of her children from his head down. Till he left, she held the two parts of the child's body, not yielding to the pleas of anyone to let the dead go.
