"Why do you have that stupid smile on?" She asked angrily, face flushed and unable to move.
"Because I finally get to meet a part of you that you don't show" Falkur replied.
Her anger wanted to metamorphose into wings and fly her away or, better still, turn into swords and sink them into her tormenter's skin.
"The past four days have been peaceful without you. You should have remained wherever you were" She spat.
Due to how close they were, Tema could see the stubble along Falkur's jaw, the tiredness under his eyes, and the dullness in their different grey and ash blend.
"You counted the days I was away?" Falkur asked, his voice lower.
Tema blinked once and then twice.
"Wait what?
That wasn't all I said. Why would you take only that part?" Tema asked as she squirmed in his hold, wanting to be freed.
'Because that's what I wish to take' Falkur thought to say.
But instead,
