ANTIDOTE

Present Time,

Spreading his arms, a cloud of darkness began to swirl beneath his feet. It rose haphazardly spreading around him and cocooning his head except his hair that was freed and flowed backwards.

His eyes were closed and he spread his arms further apart.

Darkness clouded his vision, anger coated his tongue, and thoughts of her unmoving body centuries ago filled his mind.

Falkur tried to gather Zeda in his arms, but one of Zeda’s hands held onto his bicep, stalling him.

Zeda called softly, “Kamaz’’, but he couldn’t hear her. There was only one task his heart was beating hard for at the moment.

The cloud of darkness moved and Kamaz was no longer standing where he was a second ago.

Two leaders were yanked to the side and flung across the room, creating a path to the Sixth leader. They couldn’t find or catch his movements.
