Centuries ago,
After a heated moment- filled with low and high-pitched cadres of pain- there was a solid hit to the door. It was like someone was thrown against it.
“Where is Julius? I thought he was supposed to be here by now?’’ Tema threw over her shoulder at Zelda. It was at this point Zelda realized that Julius had not returned from his venture earlier in the day.
Her heart rate tripled as she thought of the things that could have happened to him. She could only hope that no evil had befallen him.
One of the maids in the house- who has been responsible for catering to Zelda’s cravings and needs, looked down at her legs to see that she had lost bladder control. Her legs were shaking and she slumped to the floor.
Anger coursed through Zelda.
These people were inflicting pain and fear on people who had protected and taken care of her, even in the times when she was restless and almost unbearable and everything that was happening wasn't fair to them.
