HEARTS FOR ZELDA

Centuries ago,

It was like the heavens were cracked open and had decided that this day was going to be the last day before a thousand-year drought began.

The heavens poured out all it had within.

At the four corners of the elevated platform where Kamaz still held Zelda- his voice broken from the countless pleas he had been making and his muscles stiff from how he was bent over her to shield her body from the rain- stood Falkur and Tema, who held each other at one of the corners. Tema was unconsolable and a part of Falkur still had not comprehended the prospect of Zelda’s death. He wasn’t even being an anchor to Tema at the moment as he also clung to her for support and strength.

Tema’s injured leg and arm had been tightly wrapped to keep her broken bones in place and while they had hurt when she had been riding here with Gaius, the pain within her was a gazillion of that pain.
