“I recollect how you made me do so much work because you wanted me to run back to my father.

I recollect how you taunted me with a condescending look because I didn't like riding horses.

I remember eavesdropping on you. I remember realizing I liked you.

I remember our first kiss. I remember the bath we had in that beautiful stream.

I remember our wedding. I remember the memories that came after.

And I-” Zeda’s voice shook and broke.

"I remember dying. I remember trying to fight it.

I remember breaking my promise. I remember losing to Death.

“I remember…I remember you now, my love,” Zeda said as more tears fell from her eyes as she looked at the man who had suffered through centuries seeking her return.

Kamaz was tongue-tied…overwhelmed, and his heart rate was faster than normal.
