The knock at her bedroom door startled Sophia out of her thoughts. She froze, unsure whether she'd imagined it until his voice came through, deep and commanding.
"Sophia."
Her heart skipped. Sebastian had never been to her room before, and now, here he was. Hesitant, she stood and made her way to the door. She hesitated again, hand resting on the knob. This was... unusual.
"Open the door." His voice was calm but firm, leaving no room for refusal.
Taking a deep breath, she turned the knob and opened the door.
"Hey," she greeted softly, stepping aside to let him in.
Sebastian entered, his tall frame filling the room. His presence felt too big, too overwhelming for a space she'd always considered her sanctuary. He glanced around briefly before his eyes settled on her.
"I haven't seen you today," he said, his tone surprisingly gentle. "So I came to check on you."
