I can’t let you have me again

Sophia’s mind raced as she lay motionless, her body still humming from the aftermath of their reckless reunion. She pressed a hand to her lips, trying to suppress the memory of his touch, the way his hands had roamed her body like they still knew every inch of her.

This was wrong. He was engaged. She was supposed to be focused on saving Moore Enterprises, not reigniting a fire that had nearly consumed her before.

Sliding out of bed as quietly as possible, she gathered her robe and wrapped it tightly around her body. The room felt too small, too heavy with the echoes of what had just happened. She needed air.

Sophia stepped out onto the private terrace, the cool breeze brushing against her flushed skin. The city stretched out before her, endless and unrelenting, its lights blinking like stars against the dark sky. She gripped the railing tightly, trying to ground herself.
