It has been four days, and finally, everything feels normal again—just like before. I’m relieved that Mr. Watson introduced Stella to his mother; now, I can truly move on. And thank God Kevin had work that day. We still haven’t talked, and I’ve postponed our meeting until tomorrow.
The morning started with the usual routine. I woke up early, stretching as sunlight streamed through my curtains. The air smelled of fresh coffee, thanks to the automatic machine I had set the night before. As I sipped from my mug, I scrolled through my emails, sighing at the number of unread messages. Work never seemed to take a break.
After a quick shower, I dressed in a crisp white blouse and navy trousers, ready to tackle the day. The drive to the office was uneventful, the streets humming with the usual morning bustle. When I arrived, Julia greeted me with a stack of files.
“Ma’am, the tickets are ready. I’ve sent them to you,” Julia informs me over the phone.
