Chapter Twenty Four: Cam

It irritated me for some reason. I followed her as she walked up to the guy and said, “Sorry.”

Why is she apologizing?

I stepped forward, my presence looming over them. “Hello.”

The guy looked at me, but his expression was unreadable. Was he sad? Hurt? Angry? I couldn't tell.

She quickly broke the awkward silence. “Mr. Watson, meet Chris. Chris, this is Mr. Watson.”

I shook his hand firmly.

Chris looked at her, a smirk playing on his lips. “Ah, so he’s the guy you called before?”

She hit his shoulder and shushed him.

Wait.

When did she say my name?

Amusement built in my chest, and I couldn’t hide my grin. “What’s this, Kitten?” I teased, watching as she ignored me, though I caught the way her ears turned a light shade of red.

Interesting.

“How do you two know each other?” I asked, shifting my attention to Chris.

She spoke up quickly before he could. “Ah, he showed me around the office in London.”
