"Growlithe, use Ember!"
As she pushed open the door, Officer Jenny immediately ordered her loyal Growlithe to attack.
To avoid excessive harm caused by a potential error in judgment, she instructed it to use Ember—a less powerful move. Unfortunately, Officer Jenny's judgment this time was correct; the only flaw lay in the move's insufficient strength.
As flames shot forward, Mihashi's Persian countered with a Shadow Ball. The dark energy not only dissipated the fire but surged forward, targeting Growlithe.
Simultaneously, a Scyther lunged toward Officer Jenny, its scythe-like blades gleaming menacingly. The air around her turned cold as the edge of death loomed closer.
In a desperate act of loyalty, Growlithe ignored the incoming Shadow Ball, leaping forward to intercept the Scyther's attack. It shielded Officer Jenny from the strike, but the price was steep.
Blood splattered. Growlithe was thrown backward, a gaping wound slashed across its abdomen, bleeding profusely. Mihashi showed no mercy.
Persian prepared another Shadow Ball, while Scyther, following Mihashi's command, moved in for another assault.
Seeing this, Officer Jenny released the rest of her Pokémon and retreated to gain some distance. She knew Mihashi's strength—he was a dangerous criminal with elite-level Pokémon. Her confidence had stemmed from Growlithe's unmatched prowess, but now her strongest partner was gravely injured, leaving her vulnerable.
Fueled by rage and despair, Jenny's rationality burned away. The sight of her injured Pokémon and fallen comrades ignited a singular desire: vengeance.
Mihashi, however, remained unperturbed. If anything, he seemed amused by her emotional state. Dealing with an opponent overcome by anger made his task far simpler.
Scyther and Persian were devastatingly fast. Officer Jenny's team, composed of high-level but slower Pokémon, struggled to mount an effective defense. Additionally, Mihashi's Rhyperior, used Rollout to relentlessly batter her team, creating openings for Scyther and Persian to strike with precision.
Within moments, all of Jenny's remaining Pokémon had been defeated. They lay sprawled on the floor, unconscious and battered.
Mihashi smirked, satisfied with the outcome. "Who would've thought that stopping for a break in Riverstone Town would yield such rewards? Not only did I clear out the police station's resources, but I also collected a fine batch of Pokémon. Once I sell these, I'll be swimming in riches."
His greed swelled. He began to consider raiding the Pokémon Center next—it would undoubtedly hold even more valuable Pokémon and resources.
"End this farce, Scyther. Eliminate her."
At Mihashi's command, Scyther surged forward, its blade shimmering with a metallic sheen.
Officer Jenny, despite her injuries and mounting despair, stood tall. She braced herself for the end, unflinching in the face of death. Her only regret was failing to bring Mihashi to justice.
As Scyther's blade descended, a sudden, fiery burst illuminated the night. A jet of flames collided with Scyther, forcing it back.
Before anyone could react, a blur of movement struck Scyther. The green mantis was flung backward, crashing into the ground. Another burst of fire followed, scorching Scyther and leaving it incapacitated.
Mihashi's smirk vanished as his eyes widened in shock. Emerging from the shadows was none other than Officer Jenny's Growlithe, now fully evolved and radiating power.
Arcanine wasted no time. Moving like a fiery phantom, it unleashed a blindingly fast Extreme Speed, striking down Persian before the sleek feline could react.
Next came Rhyperior, whose bulky frame made it no match for Arcanine's agility. A powerful Flamethrower left the rock titan crumbling to the ground.
In mere moments, Mihashi's entire team was defeated.
"I surrender! Please, arrest me!" Mihashi cried out, his once smug demeanor now replaced by sheer terror.
Arcanine paused, turning its gaze toward the shadows behind Mihashi.
From the darkness, Matsuno and Tyson emerged. Matsuno's expression was grim, his fists clenched tightly.
Though victorious, Matsuno's heart was heavy. Before arriving, Tyson's Kadabra had scanned the police station, confirming that none of Jenny's colleagues had survived. Only she and Mihashi remained alive. The devastation Mihashi had caused was unforgivable.
Matsuno wanted nothing more than to end Mihashi's reign of terror, but as an officer of the law, he was bound by the code of conduct. A surrendering criminal had to be taken into custody, no matter how heinous their crimes.
"Officer Matsuno, please send my Pokémon for treatment," Mihashi taunted, a twisted smile on his face. "I've surrendered, and by law, my Pokémon are entitled to care and recovery. You wouldn't break the law, would you?"
Matsuno's clenched fists trembled with restrained fury. He could imagine no greater insult than granting mercy to this monster, but his principles as an officer held him back.
Just as Matsuno resigned himself to sparing Mihashi, a Charmeleon burst forth from the shadows. Its claws gleamed as it struck, driving its blade-like Slash directly into Mihashi's chest.
The criminal staggered, eyes wide in disbelief, before collapsing to the ground.
Matsuno and Tyson stood frozen in shock. The Charmeleon stood defiant, its fiery tail blazing as if symbolizing justice delivered through unrestrained rage.
