"Well done, team. Let's call it a day. Tomorrow, we'll face the Cerulean Gym. Rest up and keep your energy high."
As the evening settled, Tyson told Charizard and the others to stop training, deliberately skipping any nighttime practice. He wanted them refreshed and ready for tomorrow's challenge.
Hearing this, Eevee immediately stopped its movements without hesitation, flopping onto the ground with a satisfied sigh. On the other hand, Mankey Pokémon seemed a bit downcast, knowing it wouldn't have a role in the gym battle.
"It's okay," Tyson reassured it, crouching down to gently scratch its head. "Once we're done here in Cerulean City, I'll find you a good opponent to spar with. Or, if you're too eager, we can challenge someone at the Pokémon Center after the gym match."
The Mankey Pokémon brightened at the promise, nodding with a cheerful chirp, though a hint of its earlier disappointment lingered.
As Tyson carried it back to the Pokémon Center, Eevee, not to be left out, deftly leapt into his arms.
"You're always the quickest to claim attention," Tyson chuckled, playfully tapping Eevee's head as it snuggled in.
Later that night, as Tyson lay in bed with both Pokémon nestled beside him, his thoughts drifted. He considered Eevee's future evolution, weighing the pros and cons of each form. While many trainers had strong opinions on the matter, Tyson wanted to be sure he made the best choice, both strategically and for Eevee's happiness.
For now, though, evolution could wait. Eevee was close to breaking through to the Advanced level. Tyson decided it would be best to let it fully master its current abilities before evolving.
"I'll figure it out later," Tyson murmured, shaking off the thoughts. He drifted to sleep with Eevee and the Mankey Pokémon curled up beside him, their soft breathing filling the quiet room.
The next morning, after a quick breakfast, Tyson headed to the Cerulean Gym. Unlike Pewter Gym, the Cerulean Gym was bustling with activity. Its popularity was no surprise—rumor had it that its trainers, the three Sensational Sisters, were as captivating as they were skilled.
Seated in the waiting area, Tyson kept Eevee and the Mankey Pokémon by his side, ensuring they stayed calm. While waiting, he delved into his training manual, absorbing knowledge as the minutes ticked by.
"Hello, your turn is next. Please follow me," said a staff member, snapping Tyson out of his studies.
With Eevee perched on his shoulder and Mankey Pokémon by his side, Tyson followed the staff member to the battle arena. The gym's water-themed battlefield gleamed under the lights, and across from him stood Daisy, the eldest of the Sensational Sisters.
As the referee explained the rules, Tyson couldn't help but notice Daisy's commanding presence and stylish attire. He shook off any distraction, focusing on the battle ahead. His goal was clear: the Cascade Badge.
"Battle begin!"
"Let's go, my darling!" Daisy called, tossing her Poké Ball. From the water emerged a sleek Goldeen, its horn glinting as it swam gracefully.
"A Goldeen, huh? Let's do this, Kadabra!" Tyson released his Psychic-type Pokémon, who landed lightly on a floating platform.
"A Kadabra?" Daisy raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "That's not a Pokémon you see every day."
"Kadabra, use Psychic to control the water around Goldeen and toss it into the air!" Tyson commanded without hesitation.
Caught off guard by the aggressive opening move, Daisy watched as Kadabra's Psychic energy enveloped the water and Goldeen itself, lifting it from the pool.
"Goldeen, accelerate forward with Horn Attack!" Daisy countered quickly, her voice steady. Goldeen's horn glowed as it surged forward, aiming to shatter the platform beneath Kadabra's feet.
Tyson anticipated the move. "Kadabra, Teleport behind Goldeen and use Confusion!"
In an instant, Kadabra vanished, reappearing behind Goldeen. Before Daisy could issue a command, Kadabra struck with Confusion, sending Goldeen tumbling into the water with a splash.
"Now, Psychic again! Lift Goldeen and keep it airborne!" Tyson pressed the advantage.
Goldeen was once again hoisted into the air, flailing helplessly.
"Goldeen, stay calm! Focus your energy and use Water Pulse!" Daisy called out, determined to turn the tide.
Despite its precarious position, Goldeen managed to summon a swirling orb of water and launched it at Kadabra.
"Teleport again, then use Psybeam!" Tyson's voice was sharp and commanding. Kadabra dodged the Water Pulse with ease, reappearing at a safe distance before unleashing a brilliant beam of psychic energy.
The Psybeam struck true, and Goldeen fell back into the water, unable to battle.
"Goldeen is unable to battle! The first round goes to Tyson!" declared the referee.
Daisy recalled her Pokémon with a smile. "You're good, but don't think the next round will be so easy."
Tyson smirked, confidence radiating from him. "Bring it on."
