Chapter 98: Yagami Kō Just Woke Up

At this hour, Ichin was already awake. When Utaha opened the door and walked in, she saw him sitting in the living room, eating breakfast.

"Good morning, Ichin."

Seeing her arrive, Ichin smiled and replied, "Good morning, Utaha. Have you had breakfast?"

"Yes! My mom prepared some for me."

Sitting down next to him, Utaha asked, "Are we heading straight to the studio later?"

"Yeah, unless something unexpected comes up, that's the plan." Ichin nodded and looked at her. "But if there's somewhere you'd like to go, we can do that instead."

"Don't worry, there's nothing I have in mind," Utaha replied with a smile as she hugged Ichin's arm. "Let's just go to the studio. If I want to go out on a date, I won't hesitate to tell you."

Ichin smiled at her, then continued eating his breakfast.

After finishing, he tidied up, went to his room to change clothes, and got ready to leave for the studio.

Before they left, Utaha grabbed Ichin's arm and spun around in front of him, asking, "Notice anything different today?"

Today, Utaha was wearing a dress again. She wasn't wearing her usual headband, but otherwise, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Ichin looked her up and down, furrowing his brow as he guessed, "New clothes?"

"Nope, it's the same dress as before!"

She lifted her leg slightly, pointing to her stockings. "Look at these! They're different from the ones I usually wear. Did you notice?"

Stockings?

Aren't they just the usual black tights?

Ichin was puzzled.

Utaha chuckled and said, "Ichin, you're not very observant, are you? These stockings are thinner and more sheer than the ones I wore before. Didn't you notice?"

"Uhh… I guess I didn't. I don't really know much about this sort of thing."

Now that she mentioned it, they did seem a bit shinier.

"Well, you'll need to start learning from now on!" Utaha said, linking arms with him as they walked to the door. "You'll be accompanying me on shopping trips for clothes, and of course, that includes stores that sell stockings. It won't do if you know nothing about them! After all, besides me, the person handling these the most in the future will be you, won't it?"

"Kasumi Utako-sensei, can you please not drive me crazy this early in the morning?" Ichin sighed.

"This drives you crazy?" Utaha said with a sly smile. "I haven't even asked you to check them with your hands yet."

At that, Ichin could only sigh in defeat.

---

Before long, the two of them arrived at the studio on the third floor by elevator.

When they entered, the studio was still quiet.

"Looks like Kō and Umiko aren't up yet," Ichin remarked, glancing toward the bedrooms. "Utaha, have a seat. I'll make some coffee—they'll probably want some when they wake up."

He headed to the kitchen.

Utaha didn't follow him. She leisurely sat down in the chair she'd used the previous day, opened her laptop, and got ready to work on her writing.

Taking a deep breath, she lightly patted her cheeks to clear her mind of the images from the night before.

"Calm down, calm down. It's time to focus on work!"

But she had barely typed a few lines when she heard a door open from the direction of the bedrooms.

Rubbing her eyes and yawning, Yagami Kō emerged from her bedroom.

As she walked into the work area, she drowsily glanced at Utaha and said, "Huh? You're already here, Utaha? Good morning."

Utaha, however, was stunned. Her eyes widened in shock as she took in Kō's appearance. "Uh, Kō-san, do you usually run around the house in just your underwear?"

"Huh?"

Kō blinked, then glanced down at herself. With an embarrassed laugh, she replied, "Ahaha, sorry, I forgot. When I stayed overnight at the office, this was pretty normal for me."

Utaha couldn't believe it. The usually efficient and sharp Kō had such an unpolished side to her. Not only that, but her choice of attire seemed almost innocent.

Looking at Kō's pink cotton panties, Utaha said, "Kō-san, you should probably go put some clothes on. Ichin is here, you know—he's in the kitchen right now."

"Wha—?!"

It finally dawned on Kō. If Utaha was here, Ichin would definitely be around as well.

Glancing toward the kitchen in alarm, she bolted back to her bedroom and shut the door.

Hearing the door close, Ichin leaned halfway out of the kitchen, looking at Utaha. "She went back in?"

"Yeah, she went back."

Utaha was quite pleased with Ichin's composure.

Ichin let out a sigh of relief, then walked out with two cups of coffee. "When I was brewing coffee just now, I nearly had a heart attack. It's a good thing I didn't come out, or that would've been seriously awkward."

Taking the coffee he handed her, Utaha playfully nudged his leg with her foot. "Be honest, Ichin. Were you a little disappointed? I'll have you know, I just saw a pretty interesting sight!"

Rolling his eyes, Ichin retorted, "What's there to be disappointed about? I don't have any weird thoughts like that. And even if I did, why would I need to look elsewhere when I have the best option right here with you?"

"Well, that's true."

Utaha chuckled softly, sipped her coffee, and then casually lifted her legs to rest them on Ichin's lap, swinging them slightly. "If you want to see something, now's your chance~~."

Despite her calm expression, her heart was racing.

Unfortunately for her, Ichin didn't forget there were two other people in the studio. Without hesitation, he lightly smacked the top of her foot. "Knock it off. Kō will be out any second, and it wouldn't look good if she saw this."

Pouting, Utaha reluctantly withdrew her legs and muttered under her breath, "You don't do anything at home either."

"Utaha?"

"Nothing! I'm starting my writing now!"

Blushing slightly, Utaha quickly turned her attention to her keyboard, typing furiously.

Ichin scratched his head, puzzled by her behavior, and returned to his own computer to start it up.

---

A couple of minutes later, Yagami Kō emerged from her bedroom. Normally bold and straightforward, she now had a slight blush on her face as she greeted Ichin.

"Good morning, Ichin."

"Good morning, Kō," Ichin replied with a smile, acting as if nothing had happened earlier. "Go freshen up—I made some coffee for you."

Kō felt a small wave of relief at his composed demeanor and headed toward the bathroom.

Around the same time, Umiko came out of another room.

Unlike Kō, Umiko was fully dressed. She greeted both of them and went to the other bathroom to freshen up.

The studio was well-stocked with food, from bread to biscuits. Once Kō and Umiko had finished washing up, they grabbed a light snack before settling at their computers to start the day's work.
