Chapter 28
"You okay, Tyler?" Aunt Elsie asked me, pulling me out of my trance.
"What?" Still, I was gone deep enough to know that I wasn't listening to her as well as she thought I was.
"You seemed to be in a daze," Aunt Elise said before she said, "And you're too close."
"I'm what now?" I asked as I looked down. I was close to her, not so much to call it creepy, but something I clearly didn't remember doing.
'Lust.' Rox's situation came to my mind and I hurriedly took a step back. Even though I couldn't get hard anymore, it felt like my hormones were out of it. It was already strange that I kept smelling that sweet, sweet scent that masked my judgment quite a lot but now there was this, this daze.
"I-I'm sorry. I was deep in thought." I said as I stepped back and returned to my seat behind the counter.
"Clearly. You miss your home that much? You're in deep thoughts too often." Aunt Elise aside. I could see she didn't find the incident too strange but only if she was in my shoes, she'd understand why I had panicked.
"It's not that," I replied but I noticed I didn't have an answer either. Before I could think of a sensible lie, the door front door opened and Sasha's voice rang throughout the house, "Mom! Lunch!"
"And she'd home." Aunt Elise said before she yelled out loud, "It's almost ready!"
Almost ready? Didn't she just begin? I looked at her and as I suspected, she was almost done and then my eyes went to the clock. It was almost three in the afternoon which meant I was out of it for almost forty minutes. What I did in those forty minutes was a question I needed an answer to.
"Hey," Sasha said as she entered the dining room, followed by Mira and Sara who were wearing their casual clothes. They seemed to have changed because they weren't wearing the same clothes as in the morning. Sasha, however, was wearing the same clothes with the skirt.
That skirt had happy memories. But, that wasn't what had my attention at the moment. Other than the questions about my daze, there was another question plaguing my mind. Why wasn't I picking up the same intoxicating fragrance from Sasha but only from Aunt Elise?
"Hello~~~" Sasha waved her hand in front of me, calling me since I didn't reply to her. I shook my head and replied with a smile, "Hey. Sorry, I was thinking about…"
My gaze couldn't help but go to her skirt, remembering the scene from this morning. Sasha smirked at me and said, "I know. You can't wait to continue." She then leaned in and said, "I can't either."
She then broke away and turned around before she said, "Oh, and I just remembered something."
"What?" I curiously asked.
She sneakily raised her skirt from behind, showing me a little bit of the bottom of her adorable but plentiful butt, and said, "I forgot my panties in your car."
She hurriedly pulled her skirt down and skipped towards the dining table while I remained in my seat, frozen at what I had just witnessed.
'Fuck.' I didn't see it. I should have, but I didn't. I was too preoccupied with Betty's case that I didn't notice the obvious panties she had taken off in the morning. I for sure thought she would have taken them when she left my car but now I came to know she didn't. I made a mental note to procure them before someone else did.
It'd be a load of trouble to explain then.
After lunch, I took the panties from the car and stored them in my inventory. I was about to do the same with Aunt Elise's panties when I heard Sara call me, "Hey, you free?"
I hurriedly shoved the panties back into my pocket and asked, "Yeah, why?"
"I need you to check my car. It's a miracle we managed to come home but it wasn't starting in the morning, and it was also giving me some trouble when we left." Sara explained. I made my way to her convertible and checked. The ignition had a slight glitch so the battery could have been a problem. As I expected, it was. Her generator wasn't working.
Well, being the genius I was, I fixed the belt and it worked like a charm. Once I was done, I looked at her and said, "Did you drive in rocky areas?"
"No," She shook her head. That was strange, the belt doesn't snap that easily unless one visited the rocky areas or an uneven road but the roads here were pretty smooth so it was very rare for a belt to break. Still, it was just rare and not impossible so I didn't pay much attention to it and let it go.
"How was the exam?" I asked.
"It was great," Sara replied but I managed to sense some hesitation in her reply. Was it because of my heightened senses? I couldn't tell but I was noticing everything in micro detail lately.
"It would have been better if not for that douchebag Jackson." Mira's voice came from the side, turning my head to her. Upon hearing the familiar name, I knew something was up so I asked her. I didn't ask Sara because she'd just make up an excuse. "What happened?" I asked.
"Nothing happened!" Sara hurriedly intervened before she turned to Mira and said, "Mind your own business."
"You are my business. We're sisters. Twins at that." Mira retorted, not one bit backing off, and looked at me, "He tried to force her to go with him first thing in the morning. We were lucky a teacher came and the issue was settled."
"That fucker." I said, slight chilliness in my voice which made Mira tremble as I was looking at her. Realizing my mistake, I asked, "What did he want?"
"Nothing," Sara said.
"He was saying he booked a motel room for them," Mira said, making me all the more angrier.
"Let it go." Sara tiredly said.
"Let it go? Sara, he tried to basically force you." I said, trying to talk some sense into her but it didn't seem like words were getting through to her. There was the option of taking care of it myself but I knew that wasn't a good idea. It hadn't been long since I came here and already two incidents around me. Even if the authorities don't pick anything, those close to me might.
But that didn't mean I could just ignore this. If she was willing, then it was another story. If she wasn't, well, that became an entirely different story.
"Promise me you won't do anything." Sara, having no answer to my question, could only ask me to be a pacifist. I sure was a pacifist. On paper at least.
I smiled, placing my hand on her shoulder, I said, "Sure."
She smiled, which was all my goal and then I fixed the issues with her car and she went in to study. Mira, on the other hand, didn't. "You're gonna do something, aren't you?"
"And I need your help." I didn't deny it. I didn't need to deny it. Sara was hurt, well, almost, but even that was a crime worth a heavy penalty.
My penalty.
"Call him. I'm sure you have his number. Tell him how I'm going to be alone tonight on my way to the convenience store." I instructed. The nearest convenience store around here was by a twenty minutes walk and there was a park in the middle where no one would disturb anyone at that time of the night.
"What do you plan to do?" Mira asked, her voice containing concern mixed with a little tinge of curiosity. While she did seem worried about me, she was also curious about my plan. She had seen what I could do and what I was capable of doing. While I could handle myself, she was still a little worried because of what Jackson could do. Maybe she was well acquainted with him.
Well, if only I could tell her how much I had changed in these last three years.
"Just a surprise," I replied, enhancing both her worry and curiosity by a bit. Still, no matter how worried she was, she nodded in assent and said, "Not him, but I can get the word to him through one of his friend's girlfriends. Considering the whole school knows about the incident now, she'd definitely want to get on the good side of Jackson now that there are vacant seats."
"The whole school knows?" I asked. It was a given that after the incident, none of the guys would remain his friends but they didn't seem like the snitch type.
"I made sure they knew," Mira replied, her expression straight and ruthless. Suddenly, she didn't seem as innocent as I thought she was. Well, I guess everyone's grown in the last three years. Some better, some worse.
