Chapter 41
I didn't see Sara for the rest of the day. Not just the day, she didn't even appear at the dinner. She told Aunt Elise she wasn't feeling well, but I knew what it was. Regardless, I didn't try and made an effort to approach her. She was a strong girl, and I figured if she wanted to, she'd figure it out on her own and discuss this issue like an adult.
I did, however, approach Mira. Sara was acting differently earlier, and if anyone knew what it was all about, then it'd be Mira.
As I arrived in front of her room, I could hear slight rustling from behind her door. I didn't know what it was, but I decided to wait a minute. Once the rustling stopped, I knocked on the door.
"Oh, hey, Tyler," Mira greeted me, a little surprised by my presence.
"Hey," I said, "Do you have a minute?"
She looked at me, trying to figure out what I could want, but she didn't ponder for long. After a moment, she stepped aside, letting me enter. When I entered, I could see the clothes she was wearing earlier on the bed, so my guess that she was changing was correct earlier.
"You're not busy, are you?" I asked.
"No. Just about to go to bed," Mira replied, gesturing at her sleepwear, which was too baggy to display any of her features. I nodded and said, "I'm not going to take too much of your time."
She nodded, and before I could ask, she asked, "Is it about Sara?"
"Kuhum…" I was caught off guard, but there was no way Sara would tell her about what had happened earlier. Even if they were twins and practically shared everything, I doubted Sara would tell her anything about that.
"Yeah," I replied. "She was acting strange when she came home during the day. I tried to ask, but she was wasted and went to her room."
"Well, no surprise." Mira said before she sighed and said, "It's about that jackass, Jackson."
"Did he do something now?" I asked. Not possible since I broke his hand just a few days ago, and he should still be in the hospital at the moment. It was possible that some of her cronies were messing with her, in which case I would have to pay another visit to the local residents.
"He did," Mira replied before she picked up her phone and displayed a picture of Jackson kissing a girl. I didn't recognize the girl, but I did recognize the layout in the back. It was a well-lavished room, so either it was the girl's room or Jackson was out.
But I didn't spot anything different in there. It could have been anything, some sort of revenge, but it didn't make sense. Why would Sara be upset over this?
Understanding my confusion, Mira answered without me asking, "She used to be our best friend. The four of us were well known throughout the school for being tight. The problem began when Jackson asked Sara out, and Sara didn't know that Tanisha, our friend, had a crush on him."
"And so began the rivalry. Tanisha had to compete with Sara on many turns. She even tried to steal Jackson from her a lot of times. Finally succeeded as well, but it didn't get past kissing. It was a big fight between Sara and Jackson."
"But, being the idiot she is, she eventually forgave him. Anyway, long story short, they hadn't even officially broken up, and Tanisha jumped Jackson."
"Jackson, being the dick he is, bragged all over the forums."
"What really hurt Sara was that she never wanted to compete with Tanisha so when Tanisha called her a bitch today, she–"
"Wait a minute," I interjected. The rest of the high school drama wasn't of my concern. However, Sara was insulted. "She called her a what now?"
"..." Mira looked at me, her eyes holding a little suspicion as she worded her words carefully. "She insulted her."
"I see," I replied before I added, "Continue."
"Well, I wasn't present because I had plans, and apparently, Tanisha and Sara had a big fight. Sara was insulted a lot, with some of Tanisha's new clique and Jackson's friends involved. Sara left very upset according to some students. I figured she'd turned to alcohol."
Mira ended her story, but none of it really mattered to me. I simply asked with a sweet smile as if I was simply curious about this matter, "You wouldn't happen to have the names of all those kids, do you?"
"..." Mira looked at me for a good while before she sighed, slightly tapping the sides of her thighs with her hands as she tutted, "You shouldn't get involved, Tyler."
Against her advice, I persuaded her gently, "Look." I said, as I grabbed the sides of her shoulders and made her look at me, "Your sister was hurt. You should be upset. However, you can't do anything. I can. So now tell me. Do you want the people who insulted your sister so badly to just get away with it?"
"..." She looked at me, deeply conflicted from the look in her eyes. She sighed after a moment and said, "Look, I know you don't want her hurt but…"
She stopped. As I said, she was very conflicted at the moment. On one hand, she wanted revenge for her sister while on the other, she didn't want me to get involved. Well, I was involved. All that was left was to have her help me as well.
In the end, another lengthy sigh escaped her lips as she looked at me and said, "Let me think about it, all right? I don't want to be the reason for you getting in trouble."
If I were to get into trouble, it'd be bad for her after all. I knew how scary Aunt Elise could be. She wasn't worried about me getting in trouble with the local authorities or the local residents. It was simply because of Aunt Elise.
Not wanting to push her too much, which would decrease my chances as well, I nodded and left her room while parting a few final words, "I knew I could count on you."
She didn't say anything in return and just closed the door with a sigh. I returned to my room to continue my night as usual. I wasn't horny anymore even though I suffered the tragedy of getting blue balled during the day. I was more worried about Sara, after all.
So worried that I wasn't even feeling anywhere near as horny which was kind of an achievement considering that was all that was left of my life. Horniness.
I needed to think about going to a church. With such holy aspirations, I went to sleep.
I woke up early in the morning the next day, and even though I didn't need to, I exercised a bit just to show that I was putting work into my state of the art body. Once I was done, I showered and joined everyone for breakfast. Sara, of course, was present but she avoided eye contact with me which, to be honest, wasn't such a good idea.
She was basically telling everyone something happened between us. Fortunately, no one noticed, or at least I hoped no one did because no one called out to the strange occurrence. Once everyone was done, Sara and Mira got ready for their last day of school, while Sasha went to her room after teasing me a lot during breakfast.
I was about to leave for her room as well to get back at the little minx when Mira stopped me. She handed me a folded sheet, which, when I unfolded it, revealed the names and pictures of some kids my age.
"You asked for names, didn't you? I got into the school database and got you something better. You owe me one now." She said before she leaned in and said, "I heard they hand out together at a bowling bar. Not the one we went to last time."
With that, she left.
She must have thought that just having their names wasn't enough, so she imparted an extra tip of information. However, there was a chance some of them might not show up at that bowling bar. But I knew of one place for sure where they would all be present, and although they might not be together, they would be in a certain vicinity, easily discoverable.
So, I turned to my Aunt, who was cleaning the kitchen table, and helped her with it while stealing glances at her shorter than usual sundress that almost showed her inner thighs. Way high up.
Pity it wasn't enough to show her ass but a treat was still a treat no matter how less sugary.
Once we were done, I asked, as if just diving into the conversation, "Hey, Aunt, what was the name of Sara and Mira's school again?"
The one place where I was sure I'd find them…
Their fricking school.
