Chapter 31:A Surprise Encounter

As they entered the café, Aurélie's eyes scanned the room, searching for any sign of Sophie. The café was small, with only a handful of tables, and Aurélie's gaze quickly landed on a woman sitting in the corner, sipping a cup of coffee.

The woman looked up, catching Aurélie's eye, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Aurélie's heart was racing, and she could feel Léon's tension beside her.

And then, in an instant, the woman's face changed. Her eyes narrowed, and her jaw clenched, and Aurélie knew that they had found Sophie.

But as they approached her table, Sophie's expression changed again. This time, she looked... scared.

"Aurélie," Sophie whispered, her voice barely audible. "What are you doing here?"

Aurélie's eyes locked onto Sophie's, and she could see the fear there. "We're looking for answers," Aurélie said, her voice firm. "We know you're connected to the crime syndicate. We want to know what you know."

Sophie's eyes darted around the room, as if she was searching for an escape route. And then, in a sudden movement, she grabbed Aurélie's arm and pulled her close.

"You don't understand," Sophie whispered, her breath hot against Aurélie's ear. "They're watching us. They're always watching. You have to be careful."

Aurélie's heart was racing, and she could feel Léon's tension beside her. What did Sophie mean? And who was watching them?

As they stood there, frozen in uncertainty, the café's door swung open, and a group of men walked in. Men who looked... familiar.

Aurélie's eyes locked onto Sophie's, and she could see the fear there. "It's them," Sophie whispered. "We have to get out of here. Now."
