After thinking for a moment, Kaitou lastly decided to choose the Warrior Class.
[System Notice!]
[The User has chosen the Warrior Class.]
[Bonus Applied: +10% Boost to Physical Skills, +10% Bonus in Melee Combat Efficiency.]
[New Passive Skill Unlocked: Warrior's Spirit (Passive) - Lvl 1]
[Effect: Enhances endurance and resistance to fatigue in prolonged battles.]
[New Active Skill Unlocked: Battle Instinct (Active) - Lvl 1]
[Effect: Temporarily sharpens reflexes, reaction speed, and perception of danger.]
This decision was made with his current fighting style in mind. He had to debate about wether to choose magician or warrior, but with the benefits offered, from the magician class, he knew, that those benefits were things he could get from other sources.
The next thing he did was to check out the rest of his rewards, namely his brand new sword, a real Zanpakuto. When he retrieved it from the Quest screen, it just popped out of thin air and fell into his outstretched hands.
Kaitou examined it full and also used his [Observe] Skill on it,
Name: ??? (Asauchi)
Type: Undefined (Will develop based on the wielder's soul and experiences)
State: Dormant (Yet to awaken)
Bond: Weak (Requires further synchronization with the wielder)
Spiritual Resonance: 12% (Incomplete Connection)
Durability: High
Potential: ??? (Unmeasurable)
Abilities:
-Adaptive Growth: The Asauchi passively absorbs the wielder's spiritual power, emotions, and battle experiences, shaping itself into a unique Zanpakutō.
-Unawakened Spirit: The sword houses a slumbering entity that has yet to reveal itself. Further use and synchronization will awaken its name and abilities.
-Reiryoku Conductor: Allows for enhanced chakra and spiritual energy flow, though inefficient in its current state.
It was more or less how he expected it to be, nearly every Zanpakuto will start in this form, only by constantly bonding with it, achieved through meditation and combat, will an Asauchi awaken and reveal their true name and form.
He put it back into its sheath and put it aside for now, from tomorrow onwards he would need to dedicate extra time to bond with it.
Then, it was time to go over the second to last objective on his list. He looked back to the still open Quest screen and retrieved the second weird Item he received, the 'Free Elemental affinity Fusion'. It appeared as a small card, like from card games or tarot cards. On the front side were the five elements spinning in a circle, while a yin and yang sign was placed in the middle of it, the backside was blank.
He remembered the Systems words and thought about possible combinations to choose from.
Kaitou, realized after thinking for a moment, that it wouldn't really matter, no matter how long he thinks about it, he still wouldn't be able to figure out some of the possible outcomes, so he decided to go with his gut feeling and closed his eyes to choose blindly.
A few seconds later he felt the card shift and then dissolve, the next moment, he felt something entering his body. He clearly felt something new, something that couldn't be described, it felt- wrong, somehow.
Upon opening his eyes again, he was met with a new System Window,
[Congratulations, the User has achieved to create a completely new and unique Elemental Release]
[The Chaos Release will be from now on part of the Host. Good luck on mastering this special Kekkei Tōta]
Kaitou, a bit surprised by this name, tried channeling a bit of chakra in his body to form it, just like he did with his Kekkei Genkai before. He was now also able to feel the composition of this new Chaos Release, it was made up of Yang, Yin and Lightning Release. It seemed like something completely unexpected.
He would have to experiment with this a bit later.
All in all he was very happy with these results and his emotions were only kept in check through his [Gamers Mind] Skill.
The next morning, Kaitou wasted no time. He had been waiting for his Kekkei Genkai training session, eager to finally test his Chaos Release. Today, his instructor was none other than Tobirama Senju, his godfather and one of the most analytical minds in chakra research. However, as he stepped onto the training ground, he saw that they weren't alone today.
Hashirama Senju was there too, sitting on a large tree stump with his usual carefree grin. "Yo, Kaitou! Finally had some free time, so I thought I'd watch."
Tobirama scoffed. "Yeah right, free time. You probably just sneaked away again."
Hashirama chuckled but didn't deny it. Kaitou didn't mind. If anything, this was a great opportunity. Hashirama was the strongest shinobi alive, and his Wood Release was said to be nearly unstoppable. If he could test his new Kekkei Tōta against the future First Hokage and 'God of Shinobi', it would tell him just how powerful it truly was.
"I've awakened something completely unique yesterday - something I need help testing," Kaitou said, stepping forward.
Tobirama, slightly surprised, crossed his arms. "New? Explain."
Taking a deep breath, Kaitou spread his arms, drawing on his chakra. He focused on the unfamiliar feeling within him, the erratic, untamed energy that had come from his fusion. Immediately, his chakra fluctuated wildly, sending a strange pressure into the air. The grass beneath his feet darkened, then brightened unnaturally. A pulse of unstable energy rippled through the clearing.
Then, he attempted his first proper technique, releasing his chakra in a wave forward with his Chaos Release. The result?
An unstable, flickering wave of energy, pulsing unpredictably rushed forward. It crackled with lightning, distorted the air around it, and even made the grass beneath it wilt and regenerate at the same time. One moment, it looked like a wave of destruction. The next, it seemed almost alive, shifting between order and disorder at random.
Tobirama's eyes widened slightly before his expression hardened.
"Enough. Dispel it."
Kaitou hesitated. "What?"
"I said - dispel it. Now."
Something in Tobirama's voice made Kaitou comply. With effort, he released his chakra hold, and the mass shrank and vanished - but not without a faint pulse that sent shivers down his spine.
Hashirama, however, was no longer grinning. He stood up, rubbing his chin. "That's dangerous chakra, Kaitou. It's not just strong - it's unnatural. You don't fully control it yet."
Kaitou frowned. "It's a Kekkei Tōta, though, isn't it?"
Tobirama exhaled sharply. "No. It's something else. I've seen most elemental fusion currently known to shinobi. Wood Release, Dust Release, Storm Release - I understand them. But this? This is unstable. You don't control it. It tries to control itself."
Kaitou swallowed. He had felt it too. Chaos Release wasn't like his other abilities. It responded to him… but only partially. As if it had a will of its own.
Hashirama suddenly clasped his hands together. "Well, there's one way to test just how dangerous it is."
Tobirama narrowed his eyes. "What are you planning?"
Kaitou barely had time to react before he felt the ground beneath him shift. Thick wooden roots erupted from below, twisting and expanding at alarming speeds, aiming to bind him completely. Hashirama had used Wood Release - one of the strongest abilities in the world. The very same technique that would subdue the tailed beasts and could reshape whole battlefields.
The moment the roots touched his chakra, something unexpected happened.
The wood splintered and rotted within seconds. The once-living branches withered and crumbled into dust, breaking apart before they could even tighten around him. Chaos Release had 'unmade' them the instant they entered its range.
Kaitou blinked in surprise. Tobirama's eyes sharpened, instantly analyzing the phenomenon. Hashirama, however, let out a low whistle. "Well, that's not normal."
He tried again, this time molding a stronger layer of wood, reinforced with chakra. The result was the same. The moment the wood touched the aura of Chaos Release, it deteriorated, as if its very existence was being rejected.
Kaitou clenched his fists, feeling the chaotic chakra swirl around him. He hadn't even needed to activate a technique - it acted instinctively, dismantling foreign chakra the moment it came near.
Hashirama crossed his arms, clearly impressed. "That's some scary stuff you've got there, Kaitou. My Wood Release has never failed to restrain anyone before."
Tobirama, however, looked less pleased. "It's not just strong - it's corrosive. It disrupts stability itself. This isn't just an element… it's a force. If you can't control it completely, you'll be a danger to yourself and everyone around you, but if you do, you'll undeniably become some one on Brothers level."
Kaitou took a deep breath. He had expected something difficult… but not this.
Still, he smirked slightly. "Then I guess I better master it before that happens."
Tobirama scoffed, but there was a glimmer of approval in his expression. "Tch. You already sound like him."
Hashirama grinned. "That's a compliment, you know!"
Kaitou just smiled. His training now had once more a real destination and it would prove to be a challenge, Kaitou was sure of it.
