"I don't agree!!!"

The roar echoed through the warehouse, making Link's ears ring.

Vander wildly swung his claws, the sharp talons cutting through the air with a ghostly wail.

"Hey!" Link called out. "Vander, calm down!"

"How can I calm down? My daughter, my Vi... she actually got a girlfriend!"

"How am I supposed to face her mother? How do I explain this to her?"

"No, I won't allow it!"

Vander's reaction took Link by surprise, but on second thought, it made sense. His precious daughter hadn't been swept off her feet by some wild boar—instead, she was getting cozy with another girl.

For any father, that would be hard to accept.

Seeing Vander's reaction, Link glanced at Janna. Janna shrunk back, her expression saying, Your stimulation worked a little too well. Even she was having a hard time calming Vander down.

Not to mention, Vander had just regained his humanity. The long-suppressed beastly instincts and the pain from the experiments made him desperate to vent.

"Alright, looks like we'll have to use some physical methods." Link clenched his left hand around his right wrist, twisting a mechanism that caused sharp spikes to protrude from his knuckles. Crackling silver-white electricity sparked along the spikes.

In an instant, Link stepped forward and drove his fist into Vander's chest.

The intense electric shock made Vander howl in pain.

The current surged through his body, causing smoke to billow from his mouth.

Almost instinctively, Vander swung his right arm, the chem-enhanced steel claw slashing toward Link.

Link didn't even look. Relying on the sound of the wind, he predicted the attack and ducked, quickly moving behind Vander. He wrapped his arm around Vander's neck, pressing the electrified spikes against his throat, making Vander scream in agony.

Vander's legs gave out, and he fell to his knees, supporting himself with his arms. Link released his fist, retracting the spikes and cutting off the electric current.

"So, have you calmed down now?"

Vander panted heavily, looking up at Link. "Who are you?"

"Hmm—" Link removed his helmet and ran a hand through his disheveled hair, then extended his hand to Vander. "Link. Link Star."

"I don't remember knowing you." Vander glanced at Link's hand. He tried to extend his right arm but noticed its monstrous transformation and quickly switched to his left.

"That's fine. We can get to know each other slowly." Link pulled Vander to his feet. "Now, let's talk about your two daughters."

"How are Powder and Vi?" Vander asked, his emotions flaring up again. Link raised a hand to calm him. "Shh, don't get worked up!"

"Your daughters are in a complicated situation—" Link paused, thinking. "Where should I start?"

"From the beginning." Vander sat cross-legged on the ground, his expression no longer as ferocious. He seemed more alive than in the original story after regaining his humanity.

This was all thanks to Janna!

"I have plenty of time to process all this," Vander said, lifting his right arm. "And everything that's happened to me."

"Alright, let's take it slow."

Link recounted everything that had happened to Vi and Jinx. After hearing the story, Vander fell into deep silence, his face filled with guilt.

When Link finished, Vander clutched his head, his claws digging into his skin.

"This is all my fault. If I had been there for them, none of this would have happened!"

"It's all because of me!"

"It was the same with Silco back then, and now with Vi and Powder!"

"Everything is my fault. If only I—" Before Vander could continue, Link stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's not too late, Vander. It's not too late."

Vander stopped muttering and looked up at Link.

"You—"

"Vander, I have a plan. A plan that can give Vi, Powder, and the entire Twin Cities a future completely different from what it is now!"

Link extended his hand to Vander. "What do you say? Interested?"

Vander hesitated for a few seconds, then reached out with his left hand and grasped Link's.

"What do you need me to do?"

"No rush. First, let's meet the other members of our... gang!" As Link spoke, Janna landed on his head and pecked his forehead in annoyance. "Gang? It's a team!"

"Hey, it's more relatable this way!"

"More like relatable to a prison cell!" Janna rolled her eyes.

To Vander, the sight of a talking bluebird brought back memories and legends.

"You are... you're... Janna!" Vander realized the bluebird before him was a divine being and stammered, "Oh, my... I thought... I... oh, my!"

"Child of Zaun—" Janna flew from Link's head to Vander, spreading her wings and gently touching his head. "I've always been by your side."

"Janna..."

Vander gazed at Janna with reverence and awe. Janna turned to Link and glared.

See?

This is how a proper believer should act. Look at you—what kind of chosen one would make their goddess deliver packages!

Link rolled his eyes. If this were his past life, not only would he have Janna delivering packages, he'd probably give her the title of "Life Assistant Goddess" and start a live stream.

People in his past life were notoriously lazy.

If Janna helped them turn off the lights before bed, she'd probably make a fortune.

"Janna is a member of our gang, and the most important one. All our future actions will revolve around her!"

Link explained softly. Vander bowed his head to Janna. "It is my greatest honor to serve you, my goddess."

"Child." Janna felt Vander's devout faith and summoned a gentle breeze to surround him. "The Wind of Change is with you."

"And the other member—" Link gestured to Singed, who nervously approached Vander. The moment Vander saw him, his nose wrinkled. "Singed!!!"

"Vander, I'm glad to see you awake again." Singed looked awkward. Link coughed. "I won't get involved in your恩怨 (grudges), but I hope you two can keep it civil within the gang."

Vander glared at Singed for a moment, then turned away.

He harbored deep hatred for the man who had transformed him.

"By Janna's grace, I'll settle my score with you later."

Singed remained silent. Link turned to Vander. "You've just woken up. The most important thing now is to stabilize your condition. Spend the next few days praying to Janna in the workshop. Let her help suppress your beastly instincts and stabilize your mind. Be in the best possible state when you reunite with your daughters."

At the mention of his daughters, Vander's expression softened.

"I will."

"And what about you?" Janna looked at Link with a hint of complaint. "What are you going to do?"

"Me?" Link smiled. "I've got a lot on my plate!"

"The evaluation session is about to begin. It's crucial to our future plans, so I can't miss it."

"But before that, I need to buy some time for Piltover and Zaun, to prevent any potential conflicts."

"How do you plan to do that?" Singed asked, curious about Link's plan.

"Simple. I'll start with the Council and influence all of Piltover!"

"Doctor, I need you to help me develop a potion that can restore sensation to paralyzed legs. I'll use your potion to create an exoskeleton to solve a certain councilor's problem."

"At the same time, I'll help another councilor reunite with their family."

As Link spoke, his eyes gleamed with determination.

But before he could continue, a notification popped up in front of him.
