[Summary of the Magic Test Experiment:
Through multiple trials, it has been observed that any entity granted life by magic will develop a personality, behavioral principles, and corresponding skills based on its inherent "attributes."
It has been proven that the "attributes" determining an individual's personality, behavioral principles, and skills originate from the caster's understanding of things, laws, the world, and their own level of knowledge and technical expertise.
All creations of the caster (whether complete or not) will exhibit unconditional worship and obedience toward the caster upon gaining life.
Non-caster creations that gain life will also show obedience to the caster, but everything else aligns with points one and two.
The duration of the magic's effect depends on the caster's will. When the magic is withdrawn, the life is also revoked.
Permanently granting life is theoretically possible. Through conversations with Janna, it is understood that permanently granting life may result in the caster permanently losing certain traits, likely related to their soul.
Based on the above speculation, it may be possible to extract certain traits from one's soul and transform them into permanent life for creations. Traits such as pride, wrath, greed, lust, sloth, gluttony, and envy—those that negatively impact the caster—could be excised.
For details on excising soul traits to grant permanent life to creations, refer to the [Original Sin Project].]
After writing down his recent findings on his magical abilities, Link Star rubbed his temples, feeling the weight of exhaustion.
No matter how young he was, the intensity of his work was starting to take its toll.
"It's about time to put permanent physical enhancement on the agenda," Link thought to himself, eyes closed.
The knowledge shared by Singed from another timeline included information on human body enhancement. Once he had more time, he could start preparing for it.
After saving and closing the document where he recorded his magical experiments, Link opened a new letter.
[Oh, you think just because you claim to have information on Lux, I'll believe you?
The greatest explorer of Runeterra will not be fooled by your tricks!
However, for the sake of the beautiful and kind-hearted Miss Lux, you'd better send me the information you have so I can determine if it poses any threat to her!!!
Lastly, I must declare: This is not for my own selfish desires but purely out of the earnest and righteous heart of a model young man.]
After reading the letter from the "little blond guy," Link smirked. The guy's intentions were so obvious, it was almost laughable.
But just as Link had expected, the mention of the golden-haired girl had completely transformed the guy's demeanor.
After some thought, Link decided not to reply immediately. He would let the guy stew for a while. When the impatience became unbearable, Link would use the information he had to reel him in and then demand a hefty price.
From what he remembered, the guy's backstory mentioned that he had once found Uroya's Elixir in the jungle temples of Ixtal.
There was also a story centered around Uroya's Elixir.
A single drop of this elixir could extinguish a soul for a thousand years and make a mortal's skin as tough as petricite.
Such a treasure was definitely worth studying.
Aside from the blond guy's letter, Link also took some time to reconnect with other patrons from different timelines.
He hinted that he had now accumulated enough resources to start repaying their favors.
After finishing all this, Link got up and headed to the greenhouse in the manor's garden.
Vander lived there.
In truth, Link had told Vander that he could live in the main house, where there were ready-made furnishings and comfortable conditions.
But considering his current appearance and size, Vander felt that normal living conditions were no longer suitable for him. So, he moved into the glass greenhouse, where he felt more at ease.
As Link approached the greenhouse, he could hear Vander's heavy, inhuman breathing even before opening the door.
Link knocked and cleared his throat. Before he could say anything, Vander opened the door.
"Link, you're here."
"Hey, Vander," Link greeted him as he stepped inside. "You look much better than before."
Though Vander's appearance was still fierce and monstrous, his aura had become much calmer, devoid of the previous ferocity and brutality.
His eyes no longer glowed with bloodlust but were as clear as a tranquil lake.
"All thanks to Janna's grace and protection!" Vander clasped the bluebird pendant hanging from his neck with his left hand, praising sincerely, "Praise Janna, praise the Wind of Change!"
"Remember what I told you before?" Link glanced around the greenhouse. Vander had taken good care of the plants. Some flowers had freshly turned soil, and droplets of water still clung to the leaves and petals.
"About Powder, right?" Vander's expression turned guilty and sorrowful. "Is it time already?"
"Yeah, it's tonight. So, are you ready?"
Link turned to face Vander, who was crouched on the ground like a gorilla, his face filled with hesitation and unease.
"I... well... you know... I'm not the same as before..."
"And you said Powder has changed a lot too, so... I..."
Seeing a beast-like figure display such nervousness and hesitation would shock anyone.
"But even so," Link smiled, "you're still her father, aren't you?"
Vander froze. Seeing his reaction, Link shook his head, patted Vander's shoulder, and turned to leave.
"The time is tonight. Also, I've prepared a gift for you. Don't forget to come and get it."
As Link's footsteps faded, Vander remained still for a moment before murmuring softly.
"The riverbed and the bubbles..."
Zaun, The Last Drop.
Back Alley.
"Don't look at me like that. I didn't want to come," Jinx leaned against the wall next to the back door of The Last Drop, avoiding Little Hat Isha's gaze. "I... never expected to see Vander again after all these years. Who knows if he's even alive?"
"I just... wanted to... yeah!" Jinx clapped her hands. "I came to expose that Spider guy's lies!"
"You have no idea how annoying he is, wearing that ugly helmet and saying stuff like, 'I like this title.'"
"Honestly, I'm only here because I was bored."
"That's not what you said earlier, and Isha didn't even ask," Sevika opened the back door, holding a piece of fruit in her right hand. She handed it to Isha and then looked at Jinx. "But do you really believe what that strange guy said back then?"
"He... I..." Jinx's eyes darted around before she finally snapped, "Ugh, I used to take care of you. Why are you being so nosy today?"
"Are you hitting menopause, or are you just lonely and looking for company?"
Sevika rolled her eyes at Jinx's teasing. "You always do this. When it comes to serious matters, you deflect and never face the issue head-on!"
"Whatever, at least I'm better than you!"
Jinx turned her head away, gazing at the smog-covered sky of Zaun.
But within the smog, a flash of silver light appeared, followed by a fierce gust of wind that tore through the haze.
At the same time, an overwhelming pressure descended from above.
Jinx instinctively pulled Isha behind her and drew her gun, aiming it in the direction of the pressure.
Sevika, noticing Jinx's movement, pushed Isha into the back door of The Last Drop and blocked the entrance with her body.
She flipped open her cloak, revealing a folded mechanical arm.
Click... Clank!
The mechanical arm unfolded as Sevika muttered, "What trouble have you stirred up this time?"
"Don't pin this on me. I've been hanging out with Isha lately. I haven't done anything."
As Jinx responded, a heavy thud echoed through the alley.
A massive, intimidating figure slowly emerged from the smog. The sound of metal scraping against the walls and ground grew louder as the smog parted, revealing a silver-gray, wolf-like head with sharp fangs and glowing red eyes.
The creature's muscular, non-human body was covered in fur, and the steel claws on its right arm gleamed menacingly.
"What the hell? Has Zaun gone completely mad?" Sevika stared in disbelief. Jinx, however, remained calm, her finger on the trigger, ready to fire.
But at that moment, a hand reached out and gently lifted Jinx's arm.
"Is this how you greet an old friend you haven't seen in ten days?"
Link's teasing voice reached Jinx's ears as she turned to look at him, her eyes glowing with an eerie blue light.
"You—"
Before Jinx could finish, the wolf-headed creature was already in front of her.
Without thinking, Jinx twisted her wrist, preparing to shoot.
"I'm sorry—" A deep, metallic voice came from the wolf's head. Jinx's hand trembled as Vander extended his left hand, offering her a flower. "Powder."
Jinx's eyes widened, her entire body shaking.
"I'm sorry, my daughter."
The gun slipped from Jinx's hand as she covered her mouth, stepping back in shock. Vander's wolf mask opened, revealing his beastly face.
But in his heterochromatic eyes, there was an overwhelming love and regret, as deep as a mountain.
"—I'm late."
