"What's this about Mangekyō Sharingan's visual power depletion? Don't you think you owe us an explanation?"
At the front door, Tsunade arrived with a stern face, accompanied by Uchiha Mikoto.
Not far behind them were Kushina and Pakura.
Great.
Everyone had gathered.
It was getting lively today—so lively that even Tsunade, who had been running around nonstop, had come storming in. Clearly, rumors could be deadly.
Wait, there was someone else approaching.
Sensing the presence within his detection range, Takuya sighed in resignation.
"Uh, I'm just here to take a look…"
Dressed in his ANBU attire, Sakumo Hatake had already removed his mask.
Under the scrutinizing gaze of everyone, particularly Tsunade, whose eyes seemed to bore into his soul, he felt a bit itchy. After all, skipping work like this wasn't exactly responsible.
"Alright, everyone, come inside. I'll explain everything at once so you can stop guessing wildly."
Although a bit helpless, Takuya was also deeply moved by how much these people cared about him.
Still, their exaggerated worry left him both touched and exasperated.
"I'm fine!"
Gesturing an "OK" with his hand, Sakumo quickly stepped into the villa, shut the door, and added, "I've deployed a squad outside to guard against potential intruders."
ANBU personnel were already stretched thin, especially during times like this. Yet here was Sakumo casually pulling an entire squad to assist. Was that really appropriate?
Tsunade sighed, rubbing her forehead. After thinking it over, she didn't reject Sakumo's goodwill.
Since they were already here, they might as well keep watch. First, though, she wanted to hear what Takuya had to say.
In the living room, everyone stood in a circle, not even bothering to sit down. They stared intently at Takuya, making him feel an immense amount of pressure.
Snowy, ever the opportunist, quickly burrowed into Takuya's clothes, mumbling softly, "Master, I'm sleepy."
Sleepy, my foot! You heartless little thing, how could you hide now?
Feeling Snowy wriggling in his arms to find a comfortable spot to sleep, Takuya wanted to curse.
"Alright," Takuya began, deciding it was best to clear things up quickly to avoid further misunderstandings. Everyone seemed convinced he was on the verge of going blind.
"I promise, my eyes are fine. They're just a bit uncomfortable—there's no excessive visual power depletion, and I'm not going blind anytime soon."
"Takuya, is that really true?"
Kushina stepped forward, grabbing his hand nervously.
"You can't lie to us," she pleaded, visibly anxious. When Pakura informed her, Kushina had been so shocked she didn't know what to do. She'd been worrying ever since.
"Truer than true. That muscle-brained fool A is just talking nonsense," Takuya assured her.
Given Takuya's reputation for reliability, his repeated assurances finally eased the group's concerns.
Compared to an outsider like A, they were more inclined to believe Takuya.
Uchiha Mikoto, however, was an exception.
"But what about the Mangekyō's visual power…?"
"It must be Fugaku Uchiha spouting nonsense," Takuya snapped, taking Mikoto's hand and guiding her to sit down.
Once everyone was seated, Takuya began explaining:
"This is a bit complicated. Tsunade and Mikoto should be familiar with this. Before Konoha was founded, the Senju and Uchiha were mortal enemies."
"During that era, Uchiha Madara and his brother awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan together."
This bit of history was something outsiders wouldn't typically know, as Konoha had kept it under wraps.
"Both my grandfather and granduncle mentioned this before," Tsunade nodded seriously, adding, "Madara once lost his eyesight due to overuse of the Mangekyō Sharingan. In desperation, he took his younger brother Izuna's eyes and regained his vision."
"But what exactly is visual power?" Mikoto asked, echoing Tsunade's understanding of the story.
The others were shocked. What kind of person could harm their own sibling like that? A blood brother! How could anyone be so ruthless?
Some couldn't believe it, while others were stunned into silence.
Takuya sighed inwardly. How could they believe such nonsense? The story about Madara and Izuna was just fabricated by Tobirama Senju and a few Uchiha elders who didn't want to rebel.
Madara had always been a devoted brother. If Izuna hadn't been on the verge of death, begging him to take his eyes, Madara would rather have gone blind than harm his sibling.
Yet rumors persisted, and Madara carried this black mark on his name. He never bothered to explain, as no one would believe him anyway. Thus, the tale became an accepted "truth."
Turning his attention back to the topic, Takuya decided to educate everyone present about the Sharingan.
"The Uchiha clan's Kekkei Genkai is the Sharingan. Upon awakening, the Sharingan evolves over time and through emotional stimulation—from single tomoe to two tomoe, then three tomoe, and finally to what you know as the Mangekyō Sharingan."
"While one-, two-, and three-tomoe Sharingan consume chakra and mental energy during use, the Mangekyō Sharingan is different. It also consumes visual power. Normally, once visual power is depleted, it cannot be restored, and the user will go blind."
Spreading his hands, Takuya continued, "Although unlocking the Mangekyō Sharingan brings a huge boost in strength, using it comes at a great cost. I'm sure Fugaku can attest to this."
Serves you right for spreading rumors. You're nearly blind yourself, yet you still find the time to meddle in my affairs.
Takuya couldn't help but feel a little schadenfreude. After all, it wasn't his eyes on the line.
"…"
The group was left speechless. Was Takuya really in a position to laugh at others?
Wait—since when did Fugaku have the Mangekyō Sharingan?
"And what about you? Don't tell me everyone else's Mangekyō consumes visual power, but yours doesn't," Tsunade pressed, refusing to be distracted.
As a medical ninja, Tsunade knew better. There was no reason Takuya's Mangekyō should be different unless there was some unique factor.
Madara had only avoided this issue after obtaining new eyes. The more she thought about it, the more suspicious she became.
Everyone's eyes turned toward Takuya. With no way to dodge the question, he reluctantly used his pre-prepared excuse.
"My Mangekyō Sharingan does consume visual power. However, thanks to Snowy's special abilities, the visual power I use gradually restores itself. As long as I don't overuse the Mangekyō, my visual power will recover, so there's no chance of me going blind."
Summoning beasts could do that?
Just how powerful was Snowy?
Even the Mangekyō's visual power could be replenished!
Everyone was dumbfounded.
Believe it or not, Takuya certainly believed it himself. After all, apart from Madara, Black Zetsu, and a few ancient relics, who else could differentiate between the Mangekyō and the Eternal Mangekyō?
When the truth finally came out one day, he'd just say his bloodline was exceptionally strong.
If they had any issues, they could go ask the Sage of Six Paths or Indra themselves.
