Chapter 502: I Saw the Uchiha's Annihilation

The concessions given to the Uchiha were hardly a big deal.

After all, these were things the Uchiha rightfully deserved.

The so-called suppression they faced previously was nothing more than the usual tactics of certain individuals.

As for their seat in the Elders' Council, the Uchiha had always had one. It had simply been sidelined. Giving it back now wasn't a loss.

As Takuya had said, as long as the Uchiha resolved their internal conflicts, dealt with the hawkish faction, and refused to relinquish their hold on the Police Force, the Uchiha would never rise.

Would the Uchiha give up the Police Force?

No.

Even if Fugaku wanted to, the rest of the clan wouldn't allow it.

Neither the hawks nor the doves would agree.

Without letting go of the Police Force, the Uchiha would never have allies.

An Uchiha clan with no allies could never cause any real trouble.

Even if someone wanted to stir up chaos, Fugaku would take care of them personally.

Progress was finally being made.

Fugaku was visibly excited. His restless hands, repeatedly clenching and unclenching, revealed his inner turmoil.

He had thought everything would have to wait until Tsunade officially became the Fourth Hokage. He hadn't expected her to take the initiative and lay everything on the table.

The suddenness of it all left him unprepared.

"Lady Tsunade, rest assured. The Uchiha will stabilize," Fugaku promised.

Since the terms had been made clear and the benefits openly offered, if Fugaku couldn't handle the internal conflicts of his clan, where would the Uchiha's sincerity be?

Without sincerity, they might as well prepare for more suppression.

"Just make sure nothing happens in the near future," Tsunade warned.

She had no interest in meddling with the Uchiha's internal affairs. Her only demand was that no major incidents occur, at least not on the surface.

"You have my word. The Uchiha are part of Konoha and will not bring trouble to the village," Fugaku assured her.

Good. At least he understood.

As the effects of the alcohol began to hit, Tsunade prepared to leave and rest. But then she remembered something Takuya had mentioned earlier and couldn't help but ask, "Clan Leader Fugaku, what exactly did your eyes see?"

"???"

What did my eyes see?

The annihilation of the Uchiha, of course…

Wait, no!

Fugaku's heart jolted. It was clear Tsunade wasn't referring to that but to the future revealed by his Mangekyō Sharingan.

Did Takuya tell her?

He had only confided this information to Takuya, yet now Tsunade knew, and Sakumo Hatake seemed aware as well, judging by his calm demeanor.

Fugaku felt a mix of frustration and betrayal.

Seeing his shock, Tsunade explained, "Today's events made me concerned, so I asked Takuya directly. His eyes are indeed fine—there's no sign of excessive visual power consumption. However, he did mention you, Clan Leader Fugaku."

So it was Takuya!

"Since you've decided to align with me, some matters shouldn't remain secrets. Don't you agree?" Tsunade pressed.

There was no hiding the Mangekyō Sharingan's existence anymore. Fortunately, Tsunade wasn't like the Third Hokage or Danzo. If they had learned about this earlier, there would have been no end of trouble.

Takuya could afford to ignore such people, but Fugaku couldn't.

With a large clan and numerous responsibilities, even minor targeting could cause significant problems.

Since it was no longer a secret, Fugaku decided to come clean.

After organizing his thoughts, he began, "As Takuya said, my eyes consume significant visual power. That's why I rarely dare to use the Mangekyō's abilities."

Rarely?

Both Tsunade and Sakumo were inwardly impressed by Fugaku's audacity.

He had drained his visual power to such an extent yet claimed he rarely used it. Truly impressive.

"What did you see of the future?" Tsunade pressed, her curiosity evident.

The possibility of Fugaku going blind didn't concern her. With how cautious he was, the chances were slim.

"I saw the annihilation of the Uchiha," Fugaku said through gritted teeth, slamming the table in frustration.

"Who was responsible?"

The destruction of the Uchiha couldn't be attributed to mere war. As a powerful clan, even losing members in battle wouldn't lead to complete annihilation.

If not war, then it had to be…

"Danzo…" Fugaku growled.

Even with foresight, Fugaku couldn't see everything. As Takuya had said, the future was subject to change based on countless factors.

For example, Danzo was now a rogue ninja, and the Uchiha were no longer being targeted. With Tsunade in charge, the dynamics had shifted.

Fugaku withheld many details but took the opportunity to pin more blame on Danzo. The man was already a pariah—adding a bit more dirt wouldn't hurt.

Most importantly, Danzo couldn't defend himself. Even if he tried, few would believe him. Perhaps only the Third Hokage might.

"What a terrifying ability," Tsunade remarked. "No wonder my granduncle Tobirama always sought to limit the Uchiha."

She was starting to understand Tobirama's stance. Thankfully, after Madara, the Uchiha hadn't produced anyone too dominant.

Even Uchiha Kagami had died young under mysterious circumstances.

"It is indeed frightening," Sakumo admitted, acknowledging the power of the Sharingan.

Bloodline clans with such long histories were never simple.

By comparison, the Hatake clan seemed rather humble. Originally a family of samurai, they had transitioned into ninja, but their foundations were shallow. Their numbers were so few they could barely even be considered a clan anymore.

The thought of the Hatake clan's dwindling numbers gave Sakumo a headache.

Tsunade seemed to pick up on his thoughts.

"Why don't you consider starting a new family line, Sakumo-senpai? Even for the sake of continuing your clan's legacy, it would be worth it."

"…"

Sakumo stared at the ceiling, speechless.

If the Hatake clan is struggling, isn't the Senju clan even worse off?

"You don't even use the Senju name anymore," he finally muttered.

"Alright, fine. I have no right to lecture you," Tsunade conceded.

If the Hatake clan was struggling, the Senju clan was downright tragic.

They had lost their family name—could it get any worse?

Perhaps it was time to revive the Senju name?

For some reason, Tsunade felt that abandoning her granduncle Tobirama's plans might be a good idea. Letting the Senju name fade away seemed like such a waste.

Tobirama was long gone, and Tsunade now held the reins of Konoha.

At this point, bringing back the Senju name wouldn't be a big deal. Even the Third Hokage wouldn't oppose it—especially since the Sarutobi clan wouldn't dare protest, given their past connections.

Restoring the name wasn't the issue. The real challenge was the lack of people to carry it forward.

She couldn't rely on herself.

The only hope lay with Nawaki, who needed to carry on the family legacy.

"Sakumo-senpai, I want to pass on the legacy of the Senju clan," Tsunade declared suddenly.

"…"

Sakumo was startled, glancing at her stern expression. Realizing she wasn't joking, he looked up at the cloudy sky and muttered, "Tonight's moon… Oh, never mind. This isn't something I can weigh in on. You should discuss it with Takuya. After all…"

Your future surname is still up in the air—will it be Yagami or Uchiha?

"Don't drag me into this," he finished.

"You're unbelievable, Sakumo-senpai," Tsunade huffed, turning to leave, her parting words leaving Sakumo utterly dumbfounded.
