Fight

Laila had used ONI online as a coping mechanism to her devastating social life back on Earth. She was always known around her Guild for turning unfavorable situations into favorable ones. She never backed down from a fight, and this situation was no different.

"WATCH OUT!", the system squealed in panic, its tone, almost comical.

As the man lunged towards her, Laila took a deep breath, and time almost slowed down for her. She gazed deep into the eyes of this man. His greed, his malice present in his eyes. His scruffy moustache reaching past his upper lip. His unkempt beard looking like pubes, along with the demonic grin revealing the mess that were his teeth.

With a swift and precise movement, she swiftly sidestepped, and her hand instinctively reached for her trusty arrow, which she had kept close by her side. Without hesitation, she used the bow to stab the man in the throat, a move she had practiced on wild animals for food, but now, she had a more practical use for it.

The man squealed an guttural sound, as he instantly coughed up blood, with his entire body going limp. He had clearly underestimated Laila's abilities and was now paying the price for his arrogance.

In her ever first 1v1 in the flesh, Laila came out on top.

"Ahhh..", Laila whispered into the man's ear as she twisted the arrow side by side, his nails digging deep into her arms silently begging her to let go.

"I missed this feeling....what was it again,,?"

She smirked as she tightened her grip on the arrow and lifted his entire body gently into the air, a spray of blood splattering across Laila's face.

"Power."

Back on Earth, she had always been invisible—a ghost drifting through social circles, unnoticed and unloved. She had spent years being overlooked, dismissed, and crushed under the tag of being an outcast in society. But here, in this REALM, she wasn't just a faceless nobody. She was strong, capable, and feared.

She relished in the kill, finally allowing herself to feel the thrill of the hunt once again. It was a dark and morbid pleasure, but one that Laila couldn't deny. She was a warrior, a hunter, and a survivor. And in this moment, she was on top of the world.

She wasn't Laila anymore.

She was Layla, the strong, domineering Elf Archer she always wanted to be.
