Vanity Is But a Dream, Wake Up and Think 2

Rope rode his own bike besides the door of the neighborhood.

"Yo, Rope! Long time no see!" A gray-haired but radiant old man looked at Rope and greeted Rope.

"Long time no see, Grandpa Wormwood!" Rope stopped the car and greeted the old man warmly.

The old man had always taken care of Rope, he lived upstairs from Rope's house, and as a child Rope used to go to his house to play. Then he went a little less as he grew up.

"Where is this going? All dressed up!" Grandpa Wormwood said teasingly.

Rope shook his head and said, "Grandpa, there's been a misunderstanding."

"Eh?" Wormwood looked at Rope suspiciously.

"I'm so handsome! There's no need to dress up!" Rope said matter-of-factly.

"Bastard! Go play!" Wormwood laughed and cursed, waving his hand.

"Gotcha! I'll see you tonight!" With that, Rope rode off.

Wormwood smiled at Rope, then turned around and walked in the direction of his house.

On the other hand Rope rode through the streets with a backpack on his back and soon reached the door of a bookstore.

He stopped his bike, then smiled and greeted the youth who was yawning as he plopped down on the counter of the bookstore in boredom.

"Ryo!"

Ryo looked up at him listlessly, then shouted breathlessly, "Dylan! Bring the book Rope asked for!"

The people reading in the bookstore didn't care about the owner's shouts and continued to read in silence. The few who felt they were being disturbed looked up and glared angrily at Ryo. Ryo just returned a blank stare.

Rope chuckles lowly, "You'll lose customers like that..."

Ryo turns his head to give him another blank stare and says, "lose it...yawn, it really doesn't matter. If it wasn't for my mom not letting me have too much time off in the summer, I wouldn't have come out with Dylan to take care of the bookstore."

A young man with a red hat laughed bitterly and walked out: "You still have the nerve to say that, we agreed to open a bookstore together, it doesn't matter whether we lose money or not, it's mainly to exercise ourselves, but in the end, you just know how to yawn on the counter every day, and you're reluctant to take over a shift during summer vacation. I can tell you, Ryo is in his third year of high school and doesn't have that much time to help out at the bookstore, so you're just going to have to work at the counter for me!"

Ryo didn't say anything even though he knew he was in the wrong and just plopped down.

"Long time no see, Dylan!" said Rope as he greeted Dylan.

"Yeah, it's been almost a month since summer vacation. And you, the guy who yelled to come and help, haven't been around!" Dylan looked at Rope rather grumpily.

Rope rubbed the back of his head and laughed sardonically, "I still have to broadcast every day! I'll come and help in a couple days when my hours are up!"

Rope beat his chest loudly, but Dylan didn't bother to pay attention to him and said, "I don't expect you to come and help! You take care of Sister Ami first. She's been looking for you for the past two days, if you don't show up the brothers will have to sell you."

"Crap! But don't!" Rope said in a hurry.

Ryo let out a "tsk" and then said, "I say, ouch! What exactly do you have against sis Amy? Pretty and gentle, you're even her first love. Rich and generous, and good to your brothers. I don't see any flaws at all."

Rope scratched his face, "I can't see any flaws either. Just...no feelings. Being a sister is okay, being a boyfriend and girlfriend... I just don't feel it."

Ryo sent a big blank stare, and Dylan was powerless to hold his forehead, then handed a book in his hand to Rope, then said, "Take it and hurry up. If you stay any longer, Amy should be there."

Rope snatched the book as soon as he could, then folded his hands together and clasped the book in his hands and said, "Thank you brothers, I'll treat you two and milk tea tonight!"

Ryo held out two fingers, "Haidilao! Two meals! Or I'll sell you immediately!"

The corner of Rope's mouth straightened, "OK!"

Then he turned around and left.

Dylan looked at Rope's departing back and shook his head helplessly. Ryo on the side snorted a laugh then said, "What are you shaking your head for! I'm telling you, you guys have no right to laugh at Rope until the matter of Yellow and Misty is resolved!"

Dylan's movements immediately paused for a long moment before he twisted his head around and smiled, "That's still better than being a single dog like you!"

A vein blossomed on Ryo's forehead for a second.

"What's wrong with being a single dog! Single dogs eat your family's rice !!!!"

Rope came out of the bookstore and then he was ready to go home.

Come on, how do you expect a geek to go out on his own? He's got to be on business! And naturally, the first thing you do is go home and continue geeking out!

But within two steps, Rope was stopped.

Rope's cycling speed wasn't fast, but thanks to Rope's quick reflexes, he braked in time, or else the person who stopped him would have been knocked down.

"Hey! Big sister, you're robbing! So suddenly!" Rope was almost in the process of falling off the car, so naturally he was in a rage.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I just asked for the way, but no one cared!"

Rope raised his head when he heard a string of English, and what met his eyes was a head of blonde hair as brilliant as gold. Next was a pair of starry eyes, and a pretty face that was both heroic and beautiful, and lastly, a black tracksuit. As well as a good figure that could not be covered even by the loose sportswear.

Rope subconsciously swallowed a mouthful of water.

Then shaking his head, he helplessly got up, picked up his bike, and then said, "Where would you like to go?"

When the other party heard Rope's words, he immediately revealed a look of surprise and then showed Rope the piece of paper he was clutching tightly in his hand.

Rope looked at the Chinese characters on the paper and was dumbfounded.

After a long time, he came back to his senses and said with a bitter smile, "Coincidentally, my house is right here. Follow me."

After saying that, he pushed his bicycle forward.

The foreign girl behind her was first surprised, then just happily followed Rope.

"Hi, I'm Thea, nice to meet you." On the way, the girl named Thea said in broken Chinese.

"Why didn't you ask for directions in Chinese just now?" Rope asked curiously.

"Have, didn't talk to me." Thea said still firmly in Chinese.

Rope was rendered speechless by this mouthful of plastic Mandarin.

"You're just so relieved to follow me? What if I'm the bad guy?" Rope didn't bother mashing English with the girl.

"I, have, intuition!" Thea's tone was unmistakable.

Rope looked at the pretty face with oriental beauty and said with a bit of difficulty, "This line really doesn't suit you..." after saying this, Rope himself froze.

"Damn, what are you saying? What line?" Thea asked, cocking her head in confusion.

"Yeah, what am I talking about? We're...meeting for the first time..."
