Before the Battle

Sabrina gave Rope a blank stare.

"Busy man doesn't come to my gym to visit after all this time, and the first time he comes to my door he's running for my badge. That's very nice of you."

There was a great deal of sultriness in his tone.

Rope scratched the corner of his forehead in embarrassment, he did have a problem with this, after all, he had promised to come to Saffron City to play with Sabrina when he was in Pallet Town, but the promise had dragged on from 3 years ago until now.

Rope, the old pigeonholed...

Whitley looked at Rope like he was looking at a scumbag who started the whole thing...

"Hey, what's that look in your eyes???" Rope shouted rather agitated after seeing the look in Whitley's eyes.

"Hmph! s(`ヘ;)ゞ." Whitley snorted coldly before turning his head towards the side of the audience.

Rope still wanted to call out to Whitley to explain a few sentences, but then he thought that this matter is really just getting darker the more he describes it, so he lowered his hand and gave up on explaining.

[What, the little girlfriend is angry, don't you want to coax her a little?]

Sabrina's voice resounded in the bottom of Rope's heart.Rope looked towards Sabrina, who was looking at Rope with a playful smile.

[Shut up, it's all because of you. Also, this isn't my girlfriend, it's just the little girl that Professor Oak entrusted me to take care of.]

Rope mentally replied back to Sabrina's words before walking rather helplessly towards the other side of the arena.

[Ha, your Professor Rope's charm is so great, be careful of taking care of taking care of people's little girls and having other ideas.]

Sabrina's tone carries a strong sense of derision.

pI don't need you, Miss Sabrina, to worry about me, I have a girlfriend, Whitley is also a girl who knows the limits, and I, Rope, am also a person who has a bottom line.]

Rope smiled with both hands spread out.

[You? Have a girlfriend?]

Sabrina sounded rather shocked.

[You didn't know? I thought Kanto, Johto's Gym Leader, and the Elite Four Champion knew about it? Oh~ yeah, you were in seclusion during the big event right, and since you're more maneuverable, the alliance didn't draft you right away, but planned to call you when things really got out of hand. As a result, things were resolved fairly easily.]

Rope suddenly thought of this matter, and it was something that Lance brought up with Rope later. After all, when dealing with those powerful Legendary Pokémon alliances, you can't just put all your chips down at once. They still believed in Rope's judgment. So they sent the right people under the right circumstances. It didn't alarm the entire Kanto League.

But the only person who could barely be considered a bottom card was Sabrina. This was the last struggle of the alliance.

But in the end, although things were unexpected, this big event that happened hastily ended so hastily.Sabrina is also a person who is in closed-door cultivation.

I'm not going to be able to do anything about it. I have a girlfriend?

Sabrina asked again, her tone vaguely cold.

[Er~ Yeah, Cynthia, my girlfriend is Cynthia, Sinnoh Champion, you should have seen her before.]

Rope felt a little bad, but still said it with a stiff upper lip. After all, the matter of Cynthia being his girlfriend was something he had absolutely no intention of hiding. For one thing, Cynthia being his girlfriend was a matter of great honor. Secondly, what kind of love is it to like a girl if you can't even say it out loud that you like her and are with her now?

"Referee, what are you doing? Why don't you start the match, can't you see that the contestants are already in position?"

Sabrina coldly reprimanded the referee who was 'eyeballing' and pretending to be a quail.

The referee shivered, then immediately puffed out his chest and raised his head and shouted, "The challenger from Pallet Town, Rope Harlow, challenges Saffron Gym Gym Leader, Sabrina, to the official start of the sparring match, so both side send out Pokémon for sparring match!"

Although Rope was puzzled by the anger in Sabrina's tone, since the battle had begun, for a trainer it was like the clarion call to battle, so Rope would not hesitate any longer.

"Come out, Charmeleon!"

Rope took Charmeleon's Pokémon ball and threw it onto the field. But there was a flash of light at his waist, and Chimchar jumped out of the ball and kicked off to run onto the arena, which scared Rope and Charmeleon.

Charmeleon quickly stopped this little ancestor, Rope rushed over to pick up Chimchar.

Chimchar looked at Rope with a disgruntled look on his face.

Rope put him on his shoulder, then pinched his nose and said, "What's the hurry? There's plenty of fighting to be had later."

Chimchar jumped off of Rope's shoulder and sat down on the ground with his hands clasped over his chest, a look of resignation on his face.

Rope was also quite helpless, this little guy in front of him was really too combative. It is said that whoever hatched the egg is like him, is he Rope so aggressive?

It was obvious that Professor Elm's theory couldn't apply to everyone...

Sabrina also released her own Pokémon...

"Finish him, Alakazam!"

yellow Pokémon with a spoon and a long eight-legged beard appeared on the field.

It was none other than Sabrina's ace Pokémon, Alakazam...

As soon as Alakazam stepped onto the field, a powerful spiritual pressure enveloped the entire venue.

The referee on the sidelines and Whitley in the audience couldn't help but shiver.

Charmeleon, who was facing Alakazam directly, did silently lower his body and made a ready stance for a surprise attack, his eyes filled with a battle intent as hot as flames.

Rope looked at Charmeleon with satisfaction, and then looked down at Chimchar, who had stood up on the ground, the flames at his tail burning a little more fiercely than usual. And those brown-black eyes were filled with eagerness to fight Alakazam.

Rope smiled with satisfaction and leaned down to touch Chimchar's head, "Watch and learn. The opponents you will face in the future will be the same!"

Chimchar didn't reply, just stared silently at Alakazam's figure as the flames behind him rose another point.

Sabrina looked at Rope's two Pokémon and saw that none of them were affected. She snorted coldly. Although Rope's personal style was problematic. (Rope: I'm not, I didn't, don't talk nonsense!) Rope's training and cultivation of Pokémon was still good enough.

And at this point Rope was feeling quite the headache...

Sabrina seemed to be getting real. This Alakazam, is really Sabrina's trump card. And looking at the colorful stone on Sabrina's bracelet, and looking at the mega stone on Alakazam's neck, Rope was also helpless.

[It can't be, it can't be, there can't really be a Gym Leader who fights a newcomer's mentoring battle and still mega-evolves.]
