An Ordinary Day

Rope watched as the girl named Eri shrieked out in surprise and asked with interest, "Do you know me?"

Eri then realized that everyone's eyes were gathered on her body, her pretty face flushed, collected the frenzied color on her face, and replied with a normal demeanor, "I heard about your deeds from my uncle. You made a splash at the research summit at first. I've seen you on that group photo of my uncle's summit souvenir."

Rope nodded, not really questioning the question of where her uncle was. The significance of such a question was really not that great for Rope. After all, Rope was a guy who hadn't crossed paths with anyone but Cynthia at the research summit...

Originally, everyone had planned to talk to Rope, the newly promoted doctor, during the tour on the second day, to get close to him. But Rope didn't go on the tour the next day, and instead went on a 'happy-go-lucky' adventure to Alamos Town with Cynthia...

So Rope would never ask who Eri's uncle was... as long as he wasn't one of those regional Professor's who had a picture in his head at the mention of the word, Rope would never remember. And those regional Professor shouldn't have children at home who take this long to react to who they are.

Rope wasn't boasting, either; the big boys regarded people who were their equals as important. It's only natural that the kids in the family with that kind of interest would learn more about it by osmosis, and Rope is the one who's on the same level as the bigwigs.

As for those regional Professor, Rope had already known basically all of them under the introduction of Professor Oak, either intentionally or unintentionally. Even for those who hadn't been in contact with Juniper for a long time, Professor Oak would give Rope a look at Juniper's thesis or something.

This is something that will be used when we meet in the future. Otherwise, when we meet, what do we brag about...?

Let Rope meet you face to face and say 'Ah, Professor Juniper! You are, today, beautiful!' There's nothing wrong with that, it's just so un-scholarly.

That's why most Professor at the regional level don't simply know each other's existence, they all have to keep certain theories or opinions of the other person in mind. Not afraid of conflicting viewpoints, but afraid of not having them...

"I've also heard about your research results and also the direction of your research from my uncle, I'm very interested in this area and I hope to ask you for some advice." Eri didn't make much of a detour, but rather got right to the point with her request for what she wanted to learn.

"No problem," Rope agreed readily, "I myself was invited by Professor Oak to give two lessons. It's also my duty as a teacher to clear up everyone's confusion."

You could tell Eri was visibly relieved, and she knew that her request was more or less out of the blue, but you might as well kill a good learner for making her hold back from asking questions in the face of such a dame.

Rope naturally saw what this little girl was thinking, and that's why she agreed. Moreover, a fan girl in the field of research hey, this was really the first time Rope had encountered one.

"Thank you!" Eri politely bowed slightly in thanks.

"It's just a matter of duty." Rope waved his hand and smiled.

As for the entire class, except for a few who were taken aback after hearing the name 'Rope', most of the students still didn't know who Rope really was.

Actually, this wasn't their fault, Rope's popularity really hadn't reached the level of being known by everyone yet.

It was because the paper he had written at the research summit had not been sent out yet.

There's no way, the paper has to be verified... and it's not easy to verify the content of Rope's paper... but people can't go directly to Mew and Darkrai to verify it, so they have to look for information from the literature.

But it should have been posted recently, rather the scholars who validated the paper are finally going to give up on the treatment...

Anyway, it's largely fine, and a series of PhDs such as Professor Oak have vouched for Rope that the paper is error-free. What's more is that while Darkrai isn't too easy to find, there are still quite a few accounts of Mew and the World's Initial Tree that people have found.

"Well well well! Class!" Erika clapped her hands to pull everyone's attention away from Rope and Eri and then said, "You're still in my class, please don't publicly state in my class that you're going to another teacher's class, the teacher will be jealous~" Erika finished her sentence and made a sad face.

Erika's words and actions made the students laugh then put on a show of comforting Erika.

"Teacher Erika we won't abandon you!"

"Teacher Erika is the prettiest!"

So Erika laughed and led the way and the students mostly followed in a rowdy fashion.

Eri wanted to follow Rope, but was pulled away by Yutsuki.

Eri, of course, was a million times more reluctant, but her best friend had already come over, so she couldn't go too far, and Rope had said that she would be teaching at Celadon University, so she didn't feel like she didn't have a chance.

So with an apologetic bow towards Rope, she followed Yutsuki forward.

Rope thought that this little girl was really too much of a bower, or too formal. But it wasn't necessarily a bad thing, so Rope had no intention of stopping her.

Rope and Whitley just hung slowly behind the group, giving the group as an escort.

Whitley teasingly looked at Rope, "What? Doesn't Mr. Rope feel sorry for not having a beautiful girl student to accompany him!"

Rope laughed softly, "Aren't there still you accompanying me?"

Whitley's pretty face reddened, obviously not expecting Rope to speak in such a way, but she still persisted and disliked back, "Haha, doesn't having the company of this beautiful maiden make you very satisfied?"

"Overthinking," Rope stretched then said, "I don't know what I mean beauty maiden or not, anyway it's that you are also my student. Master is not considered a loner."

Whitley gave him a hard stare then went off to tease Chimchar.

And Rope was happy to be left alone. Smiling, he walked forward, while praying in his heart that he wouldn't run into anything strange and weird, with so many people this time, he really wasn't sure he could protect them.

On the other hand, Yutsuki quietly glanced at Rope, then attached to Eri's ear and whispered, "Eri, what does this handsome doctor study?"

Eri also glanced back at the lazy Rope, then said, "His research is on the legendary Pokémon, a mythologist of sorts."

Yutsuki looked at her strangely, "A mythology scholar? I remember you telling me earlier that mythologists are a bunch of people who engage in empty talk. Although they have compiled a lot of important literature, they essentially don't contribute much at all...much less produce anything. After all, they haven't even seen any Legendary Pokémon."
