Return

Eventually this field session ended with a bang.

Rope was liberated. It's still exhausting to lead students like this.

Walking out of the forest, there was a station not far away, Erika brought everyone here to wait for the bus.

Rope is finally back to his previous lazy self. Chimchar is also being pulled aside from Whitley by Yutsuki and is sneaking around, not sure what he's thinking.

Chimchar climbed back onto Rope's head and Rope held him upright to save him from falling.

Then he sat down on a bench by the station and squinted to sleep, and Chimchar did the same. I don't know who the kid learned to lie on people's heads from. It's just that he's still young, but when he evolves, he can't lie on his head.

Between this person and the monkey, a rare tacit understanding was formed, and the big one and the small one both looked lazy.

On the other hand, Whitley was chatting with Eri and Yutsuki. The three girls had a lot to talk about. Although Whitley was a few years younger than them, Whitley was a typical traveling trainer. So when it came to knowledge, Yutsuki and Eri weren't really any better than Whitley.

Yutsuki is a curious baby character, find also good, speak also quite good, so Whitley although she just hugged Rope dissatisfaction, but also did not exclude Yutsuki. so the two people chatting is also kind of hot and heavy. The other students were also chatting in groups, sharing what they had seen in this field class. Erika was also surrounded by a group of curious babies, and she came to you with a hard look on her face as she answered the children's answers, which were either simple or rather difficult. It was a good thing she hadn't been a student for more than a couple of years, because she could answer most of the questions.

And of course there were exceptions.

Like Eri.

Eri was chatting away with Yutsuki and Whitley, but she kept glancing at Rope.

In the back of her mind, she was still a bit anxious. After all, Rope had promised to discuss something with her, but now that Rope was sleeping, she couldn't go up and disturb him...

"Just go find him if you want to."

Just when Eri was rather helpless and even planning to give up, Whitley suddenly spoke up.

Eri looked over at Whitley and handed out a puzzled look, saying, "But the Doctor is sleeping."

Whitley laughed softly and shook his head, "That guy just doesn't want to be bothered. Otherwise, right now his side should only be in the same situation as Ms. Erika's side. But since he promised you before, he won't refuse if you go over there."

Whitley looked at Rope, then gave him a blank stare from afar. Of course, Rope couldn't see it.

"Just go in peace, that guy still cares a lot about promises."

Whitley turned to Eri. She really didn't mean to punk Eri. For one thing, Rope's thoughts were indeed in line with what she was saying, and for another, Rope herself admired the girl named Eri, and Rope might not be displeased if she went to call, but if it was someone else, Rope wasn't one to have too much of a temper.

Eri stared into Whitley's eyes for a moment, and although not very polite, Whitley's eyes were indeed sincere, with no witticisms about to punk anyone.

So with a nod, Eri took a deep breath then headed in Rope's direction.

Yutsuki couldn't help but let out a 'pfft' of a laugh as she watched Eri. whitley turned her head to look quizzically at the delicate hothouse flower.

"The way Eri just looked, it's almost exactly the same as the look on my brother's face when he went to see Ms. Diantha's movie premiere back in the day and then went to shake Ms. Diantha's hand".

Whitley didn't find it funny, because she knew that Rope's status in the eyes of these researchers who belonged to this field was not the kind of light-hearted love and recognition that a movie fan would get from meeting his idol.

For Pokémon scholars, meeting the leader of their field was really a heavy feeling of adoration. Because this person really has something that only you should worship.

Liking is not worship. Worship is an emotion that is hard to collapse because worship requires a fulcrum. And like doesn't need any fulcrum. As long as it looks good to you, you can call it liking...

Love, of course, is another matter.

For Eri, that fulcrum was the paper that had already made waves in the research community.

"Professor, professor?"

Rope was in a daze when he heard someone calling him. Rope opened his eyes a bit dazedly and then called to see Eri's face, revealing a light smile and said, "It's Eri, what's up?"

Eri blushed and buried her head into her chest and said, "I have a few questions here that I want to ask you."

Rope watched her movements, then tugged at the corners of his mouth, this girl had some serious material...

Rope shook his head, trying to clear it, and ended up nearly throwing Chimchar off his head. Chimchar let out a helpless yelp at being thrown like that. Then he jumped off Rope's head and went to find Whitley.

Rope looked at Chimchar's departing figure, the smile on his face froze for a moment, a little embarrassed, but his mind is very strong, not a moment later, he sorted out his emotions, and then showed an apologetic smile towards Eri, said, "Sorry, I promised you before, but I forgot about it."

Eri was also relieved to see that Rope didn't have any resentment, then said, "No, it's me who shouldn't have disturbed your rest."

Rope rubbed the tip of his nose, then said, "No, it wasn't exactly rest, I was just catching up on some sleep out of habit, after all, I'm not at all sure how long I'll be able to sleep comfortably in the wilderness."

"Nevermind that, if you have any questions just ask. I'll try to answer as best I can."

This trying to answer as much as possible of Rope's wasn't to say anything about having questions that he couldn't answer himself. Rather, there were some questions that really shouldn't be known to these students. Students shouldn't be exposed to so many heavy things. Some things weren't meant to be listened to as stories.

Although the Legendary Pokémon of this world didn't say anything about the divine power of 'whatever is said will be known'. But knowing more would inevitably involve them. It was some sort of law of cause and effect.

"I'd actually like to know what you think of mythologists." Eri didn't choose to ask anything intellectual, instead asking such a question.

Rope tugged at the corner of his mouth, it was better to talk to him about knowledge. This topic progressed to talking about life and ideals...

But since he was asked, Rope naturally answered seriously.

"Most mythologists deal with relics and documents. It's pretty safe overall, but the results aren't as good. After all, myths everywhere still have a lot of omissions and flaws though. But those are probably as good as it's going to get without any breakthroughs. Because the literature had basically been used up, the development of the relics wasn't going to happen in a day or two. The good thing is that the expansion of the region is not slow, so there is never a shortage of material for mythological research. Overall, mythologists are really just one of the better groups of researchers out there."
