Only the Wind Remembers Everything

In the ruins, Rope doesn't realize that Daisy has just finished cleaning the entire Kanto League for him.

Rope wouldn't be surprised if he knew. He had always believed in Daisy's abilities, and she was always good at what she did. Even in the field of politics, which she was not very good at, she was sure to achieve great things.

After all, politics was much easier than training and studying Pokémon...

Outstanding politicians weren't rare. But trainers like Rope, Red and the others were the ones who truly commanded the appearance of one in an unknown number of years.

Of course, what Rope was more concerned about right now was definitely the large area of ruins in front of him.

There might be something special to be gained from this ruin.

Rope quickly found the idol.

"It really is a special one... even this much wind and sand hasn't eroded it."

Rope looked at the idol in front of him that had no damage at all.

The temple was on the verge of being flooded with sand and dust, but the idol inside and the temple's walls still didn't feel weathered in any way, as if it would never be worn down.

"Rope, any luck?"

Whitley's voice came over the intercom. It was the method they used to make contact.

"Nothing so far, although I have found the idol. But I guess the idol is just about as capable as that voice-activated light in Aohane's village."

"So...the origin was stolen."

"Obviously."

Rope smiled, then continued, "If you guys find anything suspicious don't approach it blindly yet, hand it over to me first so I can take a look at the situation."

"Okay, got it."

"Okay, professor!"

Rope also smiled when he heard their neutral voices and said, "That's it then, we'll be in touch if there's a situation."

After saying that, he stopped talking and started exploring the temple, which had been matted down quite a bit with sand. Soon he discovered that the walls of this temple also had the appearance of murals on them. These murals had not been eroded by the wind and sand. They still faithfully recorded the hidden secrets of this village and Arceus.

Legend has it that Arceus descended into this world from beyond the heavens. It dispersed its power into the Origin. And bestowed its essence into the hands of those who deserved and needed to be helped.

And so this village of intelligent, kind, honest, and brave people was chosen. And so they lived in the desert with the Water Source.

And they built a big lake on the desert where they lived. The lake slowly expanded, and eventually, it was able to affect the entire desert.

The village, and the Pokémon that lived by the lake, lived happily ever after.

Rope saw an image on the mural of a group of Milotic tumbling up out of the water and over the heads of those who were making a pilgrimage to the statue of Arceus.

"That's it? Rotom."

Rotom spat almost mercilessly, "Where's the rest of the story? Can this guy who carved the mural be trusted? That's only halfway down the story.

"It's already more than enough. It's not like this is anyone's tomb, it's just a temple. I'm already pleasantly surprised that the murals that would appear in a temple aren't extremely song-and-dance. So this current state of affairs isn't very surprising to me."

Rope shook his head with a light smile. He really wasn't bullshitting either.

It is true that those in the fall and failure and slumber may appear in the temple. But who would readily depict images of disappearing deities on temple murals?

Unless such an image was an extremely important part of the deity's legend.

And there was nothing like that in the legends of Arceus.

At least the humanoid Arceus in front of him didn't look like someone who had such a situation.

Rope touched the mural in front of him with his hand, revealing a thoughtful expression.

"Anything? Loto?"

Rotom asked as he opened his mouth while recording the contents of the murals.

"Nothing, it just suddenly occurred to me that these images in front of us validate almost all of our previous suspicions. Looks like we're pretty good after all!"

Rope said with a light smile.

For the time being, he really didn't have any other thoughts on his side as well these things in front of him would be lucky if they could prove him right.

"Rope! Sister Diana! I think you guys better come over here!"

Whitley's surprised voice came over the intercom.

No sooner had Whitley's words left her mouth than a golden circle appeared in front of Rope's eyes.

Hoopa stuck her little head out of the circle and all, "Rope, come on! There's something real to be found here."

Rope nodded, then walked right into the middle of the circle.

To another location.

Appearing at the same time as him was Diana.

They didn't have time to open their mouths and ask Whitley what exactly was going on besides, before their eyes widened in shock at the sight before them. "This is... a pool?"

Diana opened her mouth in some shock as she looked at the large expanse of water in front of her.

They hadn't lacked water on this journey though. After all, they were entering the desert, and Rope had naturally brought as much water as possible.

Although water-based Pokémon basically knew how to water gun. But they still didn't recommend this kind of water made directly from energy. The taste is terrible not to mention it's quite easy to misunderstand.

So even in the wild, unless they were really out of options, the trainers still wouldn't choose to drink such water.

"Why is there a pool here?"

Diana asked with some confusion.

"The Origin of Water?"

Whitley asked, opening his mouth.

The corner of Rope's mouth twitched, then said, "How should I know. I've only just arrived, okay? It's not like I'm a seer..."

The days when Rope was a prophet relying on his familiarity with the plot were long gone.

He was still young and uninformed at the time, not knowing that the world he was in was a parallel world, and did a lot of wrong things relying on his knowledge of the plot... and as a result, he basically relied on his own analysis to judge the state of affairs after that, and the original plot could only serve as a reference.

"The possibility of the Water Origin isn't high though...at least I didn't feel some of the power of the Water Origin."

Rope had more or less sensed whatever Origin he had encountered before. Just like how even though he was facing Hoopa's obstruction, he was still very stubborn and demolished the idol in Eiichi's and their village.

After saying that, Rope started to undress.

Diana looked at Rope's good figure and blushed while gulping a mouthful of saliva.

Whitley, on the other hand, had a calm face. Just playing with her hair with her hands.

Rope's body was naturally in great shape, and he could take care of all the fat in his body with his own flames if he really needed to.

So he was in shape to skip the fat loss phase altogether.

"I'll go down and take a look. You guys don't move anything for now. "

After saying that, Rope jumped straight into the water without the slightest hesitation. Although the current him really disliked water is all.

Underwater, Rope frowned as he looked at the scene in front of him.

It was dark under the water and the place itself was indoors.

That's when Rope remembered that he had forgotten to ask Whitley what exactly this place was. Just remembered that it felt like an indoor swimming pool.

Rope looked deeper into the water.

It was dark, and I wasn't sure if it was because there wasn't much light or if it was just deep.

Rope couldn't decide for a moment.

So he prepared to float up and pull out the diving equipment he still had in his backpack. Before Rope could even begin to float up, however, something on the wall in front of him hooked his eyes. It was a bump, a bulge in the water plants growing against the wall.

Rope frowned and swam toward it.

He had good stamina now, but ultimately there was no way he could stay underwater for long; after all, he couldn't elemental transform underwater to avoid breathing.

The good thing was that the distance between that location and him wasn't too far right now.

Rope swam towards it and soon reached where it was.

Rope peeled back the water plants on the wall.

Groping through the thick waterweed he removed something hidden in that bulge.

It was a dagger.

It was already showing signs of decay.

A puzzled and stony look came over Rope's face. He looked down into the darkness below, his brow furrowed not knowing what to say.

He used the dagger in his own hand to cut the water plants on this section of the wall.

The smooth wall then revealed its true colors once again.

[Bandit]

Rope's brows that were already furrowed when he looked at these two words carved into the wall now looked like they were twisted together.

Looking once again at the pitch-black underwater, he began to float up.

A few moments later, Rope emerged from the water and Whitley and Diana immediately greeted him.

"Well?"

"Are you all right?"

"What can I do," Rope responded to Whitley as he pushed the towel Whitley handed him away, "No need for that, help me get my scuba gear, it's pretty deep down there and I'm going down to check it out."

"I'm with you." Whitley's gaze was firm.

"Together my ass." Rope knocked Whitley's head and said, "It's likely to be dangerous down there, and you don't have any water-type Pokémon on hand, don't come to join in the fun."

Rope wasn't being alarmist, from the information of the previous Dao, this village should have possessed countless water-type Pokémon back then. It was uncertain what powerful Pokémon were still underwater now.

Of course Rope wouldn't worry about himself, he would just worry if these Pokémon would hurt Whitley and the others. And none of his Pokémon except Mewtwo and Gengar are very good at fighting underwater.

No, even Mewtwo and Gengar were in essence unsuitable.

It was because none of them had any real ability to fight in water.

"But..." spoke Whitley somewhat sharply.

"There are no buts.Diana, help me with my gear."

Rope replied coldly, obviously not intending to leave Whitley any room for discussion is all.

"Rope, I'll follow you down. "

Hoopa, who was off to the side, spoke up.

Rope nodded this time. He didn't have the need to reject Hoopa following. After all, Hoopa was definitely not afraid of getting hurt. Compared to the huge restrictions he had to suffer underwater. The lakeside restrictions were relatively a little smaller.

Diana quickly found all of Rope's diving equipment. After Rope was fully dressed, he touched the head of Whitley who was sulking and said, "Don't worry, I'll be back soon."

With that, he rolled over into the water.

Hoopa nodded toward Whitley, then leapt into the water as well.

The disgruntlement on Whitley's face faded into worry, and then he sat down, arms wrapped around his knees, chin resting on them, and just stared at the water. Not a word.

Diana sat down beside her and smiled, "Well, Whitley, Professor Rope knows himself well. Is there anything else in the world that could be difficult for Professor Rope?"

Whitley didn't look at Diana and didn't say anything.

Just when Diana was about to say something else to persuade Whitley, Whitley suddenly spoke, "You know what, Sister Diana? My very Rope has been together for less than a year, but I really feel that Rope has taken up a big piece of my life."

Diana stopped talking and just listened quietly.

Whitley opened her mouth and kept talking.

"I first met Rope when I was introduced to him by Professor Juniper. At that time, Rope wasn't this Legendary level trainer that he is now, although he was already a Legendary level researcher at that time. I was actually ostracized by a lot of people in the Hapkido at the time because I was with N as a child."

"But even so, I still think that N has a point. Because there are some trainers who the Pokéball they're holding isn't even a place for Pokémon to stay."

"It was a cage for Pokémon."

"That's why after meeting Rope I also still feel that some people should be disqualified from buying Pokéballs. Release all their Pokémon back to nature."

Diana didn't know what to say for a moment as she listened to this crazy idea.

"Then Rope told me that the idea was inner justice. There's nothing wrong with justice, and there's nothing wrong with the idea. But what Mr. N did was wrong."

"He said that directly confronting the whole world was the bravest and most brainless idea. I asked him, "What should I do then?"

"He said that when you've made a name for yourself, there will always be people who take your word for it. But that path is just as difficult to follow. Because there are countless temptations along the way...you can't be sure if you can still keep this heart of yours to change the world after you've seen the prosperity of this world."

"I said I could, so he asked Professor Oak for an icon for me...my special icon...and Professor Oak said I might be able to become a 'liberated man'."

"I really think Rope's a great, great guy. But the worst thing about him is that he's always busy."

"Ever since his journey started he's been busy on his feet. I don't like being this busy."

"I know he doesn't like it either...it's just that neither of us have a choice."

Diana looked at Whitley who had once again fallen silent and stopped Whitley into her arms.

She whispered, "The future will always be bright. The suffering now is only for a better tomorrow."

"The deeper the darkness, the brighter the dawn light will appear."

————————————

Underwater, Rope doesn't know what Whitley is thinking. But he knew that he was now on to something big.

Even Hoopa got a bit of a creepy feeling looking at that big pile of ghastly white bones.

The world of Pokémon didn't really have any evil gods. They might have all directly or indirectly harmed Pokémon or humans. But if you asked them to commit a massacre, they couldn't do it.

Even among Pokémon, except for a few mortal enemy races, there were very few Pokémon who met to the extent that they had to fight to the death.

"So... is this what that bandit did?"

Rope let out a long sigh as he looked at the pile of white bones.

"Rope, are Whitley and the others really alright?"

Hoopa was suddenly a little worried about Whitley and the others on the shore. If something appeared on the shore during their descent into the water, then I'm afraid Whitley and the others would not have a good time.

Rope shook his head and said in his own mind, "Don't worry, my Pokémon are on the shore. There shouldn't be any now, either, that they have absolutely no way of dealing with."

Rope wasn't being cocky either. With her own six Pokémon together, she wasn't afraid even if Red came herself now. After all, Monferno had evolved into Infernape, ushering in the true molding of battle power.

Hoopa sniffed and nodded.Rope was right.Whitley and the others wouldn't have any major problems.

So the two guys once again swam down a channel towards the water.

And somewhere in the corner of this large pool, a Pokémon swung itself around and disappeared into the water.

"Rope, something's wrong with my senses." There was alarm surfacing in Hoopa's eyes.

Rope nodded, he too sensed something wasn't quite right.

"Is something following us?"

Rope continued mentally.

"Can't sense it, I can only sense about a two meter radius right now."

Hoopa's face was grim.

Rope shook his head, signaling Hoopa not to worry yet. But it was hard for Hoopa not to worry, being able to restrain his power...that odds were that it could injure him as well.

"Rope...I'm a little panicked..."

"Don't panic. I am."

Rope helplessly consoled the guy who was very strong but looked very timid.

"Calm down, go down first. Soldiers come and go, always be ready to retreat."

Rope carefully instructed. En, Rope's burden was actually not much bigger than Hoopa's.

And so in the dark water, the two vigilant powerhouses looked around and cautiously advanced.

"Muu~~~ (Are you sure?)"

A male Milotic looked at the female Milotic in front of him and said somewhat gruffly.

"Muu~ (Eh, it's strong! Extraordinarily strong!!!)"

Milotic thought carefully and shivered then said, "Mu~~~~ (is much stronger than that 'bandit' we met back then. A lot!"

The dozen Milotic present were in an uproar. They felt intimidated at the thought of that bandit.

And now another group even more powerful than the bandit had arrived.

Arceus! What kind of sin did their clan create!

The male Milotic turned around to look at the huge ice block behind himself. Somewhat painfully, he thought.

"Sennogi...this time, we won't leave you alone no matter what."
